That's correct, but it's easy to pay off rest of the plan next year, sell the phone even to carephone warehouse or something like that and get new model. Last year when I was upgrading from 7 to X, if I gave phone to apple it would equal around £280 (rest of the contract) but carephone warehouse gave me £350.
Thanks mate, I assumed I was correct in thinking that.
Going to have to take a trip to my local Apple store next week and have a play with both the xs and xs max. Not sure if I really want a big phone as I’m quite happy with the size of my 6s and the xs is similar to it in size.
But then having all that size with the xs max is making me think more towards the xs max.

Some good info here for those new to the X form factor

This is the kind of stuff that should be accessible from within the Tips app instead of having to stumble across it on YouTube

Info about the esim at 4m

You'll hardly notice a difference between the 6s and Xs. They are almost identical.

Not sure if its been mentioned; First Directs app doesn't seem to work on the new iPhones, they are currently investigating and they said will hopefully have a fix early next week.

I’d still like it back.

I’m forced to change by body position unnaturally when the phone is on my desk, table, gym bench etc.

Touch ID was much safer for car use when unlocking it to turn my google maps sat Nav screen back on. I could do that without looking, like using the radio. Now I have to change my body position and take my eyes off the road for a second.

It often won’t work in bed and I’m forced to enter my long extended pass code manually.

There are many other times I’ve encountered when it will try to unlock when not pointing directly at my face, fail and then when I do want to unlock it I’ll again have to enter my passcode.

In general I think it’s excellent. But there’s a ton of situations where having Touch ID to compliment it would be optimal. Although I’m not holding my breath for it.

Just a tip but I find for a desk you really should get an angled wireless charging stand. You just have to tap the screen and you’re already unlocked. Been my life saver the last year. It is annoying having to pick up it or tower over it otherwise.

I can’t comment for driving as my phone lives in the glove compartment box and I use CarPlay but I can see how that may be annoying

Yep tweeted them yesterday and responded straight back. Same issue with HSBC.

WOW I've never known DPD be so rubbish! So they couldn't deliver to my pick-up shop Friday, now I get a message saying they can't deliver it today either and they'll try again tomorrow. I finally get to speak to a human on the phone and it turns out the pick-up shop has a broken scanner and can't accept any parcels. They said delivery should have been re-attempted at my home address today but for some unknown reason they just went back to the same pick-up shop again, even though they know it has a broken scanner and can't accept parcels, so couldn't deliver again. What the actual balls is that! No delivery until Monday now. Blows my mind how crap delivery companies can be to do the most basic of things.

DPD have gotten a bit **** recently. They used to be my favourite delivery company but my last 2 parcels by them had failed deliveries despite me being in

Well I’m thoroughly ****** off, but not because of the phone itself.

I’ve just wasted two screen protectors trying to get one on the phone properly.

It’s not that they don’t fit (the one I went for has a ‘bumper’ that makes fitting a doddle), it’s the ****** dust that magically appears under the protector as you’re putting it on.

I got the bathroom all steamy to get rid of the dust in the air. I made sure the screen was spotless. But the second you peel back the film from the screen protector, it turns into a ******* dust-magnet, and by the time you’ve got it on the phone, you may as well have not bothered.

Admittedly I can’t see any dust dots during general use, but with the screen off it’s really obvious and I’m a bit of a perfectionist…

I’ll have to order some more now — what a waste of time and money. :(

I hate putting screen protectors on but my last few attempts have all been perfect - on my 8 Plus, my X, wife's 8 Plus and even my Nintendo Switch - the hinge method works wonders for me. I just line the screen protector up with the backing still on, put a couple of bits of masking tape down one side to hold it in place, lift the protector up, clean the screen thoroughly and then dab another piece of masking tape over it repeatedly. Then lift the protective backing on, let the protector fall into place, smooth the air bubbles out and take the top layer off. Hinge method and dabbing the screen with tape over and over is the key for me and I've always been tragic at applying screen protectors previously.

Unfortunately peeling the plastic off the screen protector causes a lot of dust attracting static. It’s difficult to get right. (I don’t think I’ve ever managed a protector without dust )

I literally just finished putting one on. Not a single bubble . From first attempt :)

Now I’m annoyed with something else. Apple Pay. I have been trying since I got it yesrsay it’s nkt letting me. Anyone have problems.

Nope. Worked straight away for me. It already had my card details. I just had to input the cvc or whatever code from the back of the card. And put the sms code in my bank sent me.

It's definitely not easy!

I used one for the first time last year on my X, after my 7 ended up getting way more micro abrasions than my previous iPhones. Was a bit weird at first, but got used to it quickly and stopped noticing it.I'm very happy I did. Will put them on all my phones from now on.

I've dropped my X a couple of times and the screen protector has a few cracks, I can now order a replacement for less than a tenner instead of the hundreds Apple charge for glass.

The Anker one is good, it comes with a tool to help apply it. See the second image on the listing.

It’s not the fit that’s the problem, it’s the dust that attaches itself to the underside of the protector in the second or two between peeling off the flim and attaching it to the phone. :(

My 6s was saved more than once by a screen protector, so I’m sold on the concept, I just wish it was easier to get a finish that was up to my high standards. :p
