I was a beta tester for iOS12 and it's the OS that offered the speed improvements with FaceID from what I can tell.

I think that with ios 12 face id slowed down to me on iPhone X. Just my impression, sometimes on the screen I see numbers already for pin code and then it unlocks. Some kind of lag, that wasn't here before.

Like on this video 10.05, it actually unlocks when he tries the first time but with lag. After that it's fine until you leave it for some time and try again.

This password management malarkey in iOS 12 is absolutely brilliant. I use 1Password, and in conjunction with Face ID, you have a login form populated with zero effort.

It’s also good how when you get a text from a site using 2 factor authentication, it auto populates the field with the code from the text

Wow, that's pretty cool. I wonder if you can get it to automatically pull it from apps like Authy with Shortcuts, as they're much more secure than SMS.

What case is everyone using for their iPhone XS?

Mine is hopefully being delivered tomorrow, along with a screen protector, but I can't decide on what case I want

Currently using a Spigen liquid crystal clear TPU case while I wait for my Saddleback leather to be delivered.

I was too, although didn’t notice much difference with IOS 12 on the X, to IOS 11 on the X.

I was perfectly happy with faceID speed anyway so I think due to that I never registered any differences when I went to 12.

I only upgraded to iOS 12 yesterday and have to admit FaceID seems nippier than usual so this stacks up.

Will skip this generation as planned and wait for them to really fine tune FaceID before upgrading again then

I think I remember reading its the animation they sped up, but the XS makes it slightly faster on top of that because of the neural engine.

Been using it for a while, not for a anything fancy though. Just for downloading videos and stuff from social media and YouTube etc.

Was previously called "Workflows", great to see how they'ce expanded upon it and integrated it with Siri.

Ordered this case w/full covered protector so it should retain the smooth edge swipe and naked look. TPU-like but won't yellow and super thin, supposedly...

I don't usually use screen protectors, but then but I don't usually carry a £1.1k device to the gym or yoga either (touch wood I've never dropped older iPhones but there's always a first time).

No not at all, think it’s perfect but then as I said earlier in the thread in 6ft 5 with large hands. I think it was more than a worthy upgrade.

It's a handful for me but perfectly usable, thought the same when I got the Plus (don't have big hands) - a thin/grippy case makes the world of difference as the biggest dislike for me is how slippery it is, anxious using it with one hand ATM.

Urgh so obvious... but I swear I have never had to manually do this before. Was fiddling around with the iCloud settings but not the iCloud settings in iTunes itself. Thanks.

So I'm about to sell my Pixel 2 XL before the prices drop next month to move to the XS Max, I'm concerned it might feel too big in the hand though?
