In my town the Xmas lights were turned on, on the 4th of November I think, complete tosh.

I bought a new tree at the weekend. Been very tempted to put it up since, but not sure if CBA. It was meant to cost £114, but the garden centre where it came from had a voucher offer of 50% off any single Christmas decoration/item. I'm sick of having a real tree in my lounge at Christmas, so managed to persuade the wife we needed a decent immitation tree and to plant the real one we have in the garden.

Need some good decorations now though.

How the hell does a fake tree cost £114?! I demand pictures. (There must be some of the model on the internet.)

I don't even know where I can get an affordable real tree from, I haven't had a tree for the last couple of years in my flat (I go elsewhere for Christmas) but really want one this year. Last year a few shops were selling tiny 3 ft ones for £40+. Sod that! I live in a tenement so I can get at least a 9ft'er in here.

For our Aberdeen members, if you're looking for a real tree get down to Tyrebagger forest. Great selection there and very well priced.

@yhack - Have you just moved in or something? or are you a fan of minimalist? no pictures on the wall or anything lol

My mum says we can't put ours up until December, if it was up to my dad it would be up in June.

Mum almost put a bed on with my dad saying "if you can find a Christmas Tree in June, you can put it up in June" then she realised that my dad COULD find a tree in June lol

Christmas Advertising starting in December wouldn't work, the whole point of advertising is to get in as early as possible, then you stick in peoples minds, thats why every year I hear "Tesco have got christmas stuff in already" in OCTOBER! lol
