***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Have to say I would agree. I've not looked into it a great deal, but I don't think the Nexus 4 will be as good technically as the S3. I'm a little surprised so many are happy with a sort of straight swap to the N4, I hope they don't regret it.

I agree. I sold my S3 for 350 quid last week, and I know the storage is going to bug me (avid fan of carrying big mp3 collection on me). I'm going to give Play Music a go....

I'm a bit skeptical about the DAC in the N4 too.

The thing is, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my S3 at all, it was pretty much perfect.

Yes, it is all pretty pointless, including that which you ask them to post. A better idea is by comparing it to something else you've used in a similar manner and commenting on whether it lasted a bit better or a bit worse, much like the guy did comparing it to his similar use on his iPhone 5.

As has been said, even just the area you're in, the network you're on and the radio ROM your using are much bigger factors than how many text's you sent. With battery, you just can't be that accurate/specific.

Seriously, surely you've notices how two people how would appear to have very similar usage have wildly different results?

Surely can you not see what I mean, especially considering that you review phones for a living

Of course no battery life is going to be the exact same if usage is roughly the same for the reasons you said, signal strength etc. however, it is very close if those factors are roughly the same i.e. most of the one S owners here can get 4-5 hours on screen time throughout 1-2 days easily with similar usage just like some GS 3 users and their battery life in the thread here.

BTW if these sites posted the relevant screenshot (the history showing wifi, awake time etc.) then we would know what the signal strength was roughly like.

How is what that guy posted of any use at all, so what if he compared it to the iphone 5? Both completely different phones that have different OS.... and again, was his usage roughly the same on the iphone 5? Did he actually charge both phones fully? (many review sites don't :o) Also he doesn't seem to have a clue how android works with regards to apps/multi-tasking and RAM, which makes his opinion even more worthless.

I just can't see how you don't see what I am getting at and how you can think being a bit more specific is pointless when compared to their crap efforts  As I said before, for all I know that usage could be similar to mine on the S in which case it is **** poor or he could have loads of syncing etc. going on in which case it is great, if he had posted the info. which I and others would like to see (which doesn't take like an extra hour to do, at most 5-10 minutes more) then I would have a better idea as to how it stacks up compared to phones like the one S, X, GS 3 etc.

EDIT:

And yup, apart from camera, storage and possibly audio (loudspeaker) as well as possibly battery life (need to wait for gsmarena's test for audio and user opinions on battery life and for the software update), the N4 is better than the GS 3 in the other areas, the GPU/CPU just blows exynos/mali out of the water.

I agree, its actually putting me off looking at these forums lately. Its just a phone - and its actually quite depressing to read how people seem to be focussing so much of their energy into a phone.

Meanwhile the PC scene looks dead as a dodo at the moment

The PC scene has always been a niche/enthusiast market. Mobile phones are completely different as they are a mass market product.

If it's showing as 'pending' in Google Wallet, I think you're pretty much guaranteed a phone. People with funding issues have already had their orders cancelled so I imagine all the remaining folks won't have any problems.

I'm quite disappointed that the phone hasn't shipped yet. I ordered it at 8:30 this morning and it's close to 17:00 now and Google has yet to dispatch it. What are they playing at?!

nothing showing in my bank :(

The reason I'm eager to get this phone is that it's a Christmas present for my girlfriend, who as of yet has never owned a smartphone. this one came along at exactly the right time and it'd be a shame to not be able to get it.

I'm perfectly happy with my S2 :)

Considering the courier they use only has next day delivery options they give a 3-5 day estimate for a reason :p

Despatch can be quite late. Some delivery companies are happy to do next day as long as its at the hub by 8pm ish.

So everyone who got their order in *should* get their phones tomorrow?

Congrats to all you lucky buggers :p.... Christmas has come early.

I did lol a lttle in the morning when the order page went live moments after people got fed up and left for work, only to find it sold out by the time they got to work :D

Call your bank up and ask them if they have any pending authorisations on your account. Some banks, like HSBC for example, don't show pending transactions online.

I hope you're right, bud. I'd be happy as hell if it came in tomorrows post.

I think the biggest problem is that they allowed 10 orders per person, I bet phone retailers bought in bulk...

Should have been 1 order per person.

Anyone receive any shipping info yet, mine isn't set as pending or anything but I didnl't receive any shipping info yet
