***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

To get decent standby battery:
turn off Google now
turn off Google backups

I like and use google now...but as you say it may drain battery...

on standby in building with no reception/poor reception, it used 30% in 5 hours...

this place is like a black hole for batteries...

Yeah that is poor battery, 3 hours on time and 2 hours on screen time with minimum brightness

Also try to take the screenshots when you hit 15% or lower as the battery meter isn't always that consistent on android phones.

Also post the history chart that shows WiFi etc. Info. Tap the top part where it says 3 hours

so this is looking bad in regards to ordering this... if google are saying 3weeks to honor the first lot...

anyone know if its easy to unlock if i purchased the o2 one?

Google are a joke. Seriously.

Told them TWICE they had the wrong delivery address, they didn't care, that's where it is going. Never mind the damn thing just ignored that I put the delivery address as the billing address on the order. Google know better and changed it, course I didn't see that as I never got a confirmation screen.

The lad living there now has Aspergers Syndrome and won't answer the door to anyone. I manage to get hold of his mum to get the call card.
Great, option for redelivery to another address. LOL nope. Google has told TNT not to allow it.

I am trying to get the phone delivered to the billing address FFS! It should not be this hard! I can't even go and collect it, because the address on my photo ID is different to the delivery address, because I don't live there. Jesus.

/rant

Just emailed Google, again. But to be honest I am not holding any hopes. I will probably end up having to cancel the order, and there is no way in hell I am ordering from them again.

So ... HTC One X or Samsung Galaxy S3? I do like the look of Sense lol.

I've never had a problem as long as the names the same, which is lucky as there was no way I was changing my driving licence for every house I've lived in at uni.

I'll take more screenshots when its around 10% battery. I turned off google backups and google now so I'll see if that improves it.

o2 chat says:

Martha: I'll be happy to help you with that.
Martha: Yes, the Nexus 4 will be locked to O2 network.

Matha is incorrect.

I went in on Wednesday morning as i was contemplating paying o2's price for one, and asked if they had a demo handset. As i am quite friendly with the staff in there they let me try my T-Mobile micro sim in there and it worked without issues.

Its entirely possible that the next batch WILL be locked, but the first batch is not, so get em while they're hot!

I got my galaxy nexus last year from the O2 shop. It came locked to O2 but had none of the software, splash screen etc. It does show in the play store as an O2 galaxy nexus though.

Cost me about £8 for an unlock code from ebay. It was unlocked within minutes of buying.

It's obviously not a problem if you're planning on using an O2 or Giffgaff sim (Tesco may work aswell).

im thinking if they have one in stock i will buy today, purely because i reckon for people like myself it will be at at least 5 weeks before i have one in my hand. it's a 25% markup, but 3 weeks before existing orders are honored and still loads trying to get one

This made me laugh:
