***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

See, I was prepared to pay £550 for this phone (as per the GNex) so anything less is money saved.

Personally an extra £100 is hardly a big deal to keep me happy, and I'm VERY happy.

I'd rather stump that up now than wait 3 weeks, then fail to get one again, and then be forced to wait even longer to get one (possibly).....

Then again, I don't have a phone and I needed one badly.

Anyone else able to hear very low static from the earpiece when in normal use.....ie not using it as a phone.

Now that you mention it... yes!

In fact the ear-piece speaker seems to be turned on at all times even when the phone should be 'sleeping'... surely that can't be healthy for the battery life?

@Chiz

Is there any particular reason you want the nexus 4?

If you're willing to pay that much you get the note II, one X+/XL, GS 3 LTE for £450-500.

@m4rk84

Not good if that is true! That indeed could be why the battery life is poor.

Does everyone who own the N4 have the same issue?

EDIT:

not to mention it will damage the speaker in the long run

It is VERY quiet, and it goes when I turn the screen off. Its not annoying, just odd and only audible if I put it next to my ear as if I were making a call.

So, I don't think I want it anymore and will stick with the iPhone 5.

But I believe I left the option to associate it with my Google account ticked when I ordered. Does this mean I'm going to have to open it up and remove my account from the phone if I sell it on, or is there another way to disassociate my account with the phone?

Thanks!

Are you sure yours turns off when you turn the screen off, because mine definitely reduces the volume to be even quieter but if I listen for long enough in a quiet enough place I can hear it is still on... :s

See, all those other phones you've mentioned I've got gripes with. I've got many issues with them all. Enough to stop me buying them.

Plus in my eyes, I think the Nexus 4 looks the nicest and the specs are decent... I could go on.. bla bla bla.

Just personal preference really mate :)

One quick question...

Anyone got any idea of the quickest way for me to get a hold of a micro sim card on EE?

Both stores in town say they don't have any. If I buy a PAYG EE sim from CPW etc, will EE then be able to transfer my contract/number across to that sim?

To be fair I'm sat in the lounge with the better half blaring the TV. I'll have a listen with the screen off when its quieter.

Fair enough :)

One sold on Gumtree. Felt guilty when he collected. £475. Shameful

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean...

I just want a micro sim tomorrow instead of waiting on EE sending me one in the post. One that I probably wouldn't receive until Tuesday.

As I posted yesterday, despite not receiving a shipping email and my order status (and still today) saying 'delivery estimate 15th' my phone arrived yesterday morning. I've just checked my bank account and it appears as if, like some of those that received the back order email, my money's been refunded.

At least Google's incompetence worked out ok for somebody :D
