***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

How is battery life compared to a Nexus S not running a custom ROM? That would be a good point of comparison for me actually.

its better than the nexus S.

at the end of the day you need to charge once a day if you leave the phone on over night, no matter what phone you have, yes you can stretch 2 days, but you leave yourself short, if you turn off at night then you can get 2 days for sure

Screw it, going to order one from CPW I think :p

Not waiting ages for one, plus the parents will be contributing to the cost as my main christmas present so it's only a £150 phone anyway.

Thanks. My girlfriend is using a Nexus S and she gets low battery early afternoon even when she barely uses it. Morning to evening with normal use is all we ask for really.

I wish there were more comparisons like this, as useful as all the battery charts are we all use our phones differently, so its good to know how it compares to sombodies old phone. I'll be moving from an iPhone 4, I'm guessing it should be at least as good as that, I'm happy if it is.

Maybe you guys have poor screens? The viewing angles on mine are honestly fantastic. This said, the display as a whole is a hell of a lot better than the last Nexus 4 that I had (that one was very washed out).

I have another RMA in place due to this device being dented, so I'll share when I've received that.

sounds like it's not sleeping properly - i.e. not letting the cpu deep sleep when the phone screen is off, due to a rogue app. Any smartphone should last atleast a day with light use.

Exactly what I ended up doing after a lot of faffing about ......here tomorrow! Waiting for a insurance claim on old S2 so will use what ever I get from that to offset the cost. Had to get a bumper from google store as looks nice!!!

Re Nexus S battery: that's what I thought too but we never identify a rogue app. Could it be a messaging app (handcent is on there) or maybe a widget?

I am more and more convinced that this Google pricing of the nexus 4 is a a ruse to create the impression that the phone is cheaper than it is.

I could sell you my 2011 Ferrari for £3k. However, I currently don't have one.

got the brent cross o2 store to send one to o2 holloway road, where i work. going up upgrade from my Gnex tomorrow. plus 30% o2 discount, means i am going to be getting a nexus 4, for free at £41 a month, 2GB of data, unlimited text/calls. with a 30% discount, it works out at £688.8 over 24 months. Minus £25 a month for their sim only tarrif that gives 2GB data/ultimited else gives me £600. So i am playing £88.8 for the phone. Even if i applied a 30% discount for the sim only, it works out at £420 over 2 years, so the phone is £268.8 which is still superb.

i am quite happy. Heres hoping for a fantastic display

OK. I switched Google now back on.
Will see tomorrow how it will affect battery.
And tomorrow, I will switch to giffgaff, again.
Three in SE London is totally carp...o2 is better

I got 5 days out of my Galaxy S with SlimBean ROM (Android 4.1.2) and Semaphore kernel. Just over 2h screen on time, little use.

It's advisable to switch to 2G only when mobile data is not in use, I found that it helps a great deal, especially in areas with poor 3G reception.
