thats the date other carriers have said stock will be available, which is also the date o2's exclusive deal ends. putting 2 and 2 together and maybe coming up with 5, but it might make sense that will also be the date google will open up their store again for new orders.

its taken google 2 weeks since laucnh to get this next batch of phones from LG so the 13th is another two weeks away, which is hopeful that anothe rbatch of phones will be ready again...

You don't need root, just sideload it in the stock recovery.
