***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Yeah, probably going to ask him to keep the packaging and just send the phone and accessories. Save some shipping cost. Marking it as a gift usually covers you, it's just when ordering from companies that you can run into trouble because they don't like doing it.

packaging is very light so you're better off getting it all together as when you come to sell it on it will be useful

Well that was ridiculous. Phone sold out in under a minute. Now a 4-5 week shipping time for the 8GB model.

Google really blew this phone's launch. 5 week shipping time ? Madness.

The google play store is run by pathetic morons who do not know how to handle customer traffic and product launches. Ridiculous!!!

On the other hand they could be using the ''US Only'' store as a guinea pig to test the waters for a further roll out?

We have no chance in the UK! - Doomed. All this just make me not want to buy the nexus 4. I have no choice thought i went through 8 boxes of iPhone 5's (scuff gate!!!) - Although apple did offer me 10% off an iPhone 5, but thats still ££££££'s.

I hear you on that one mate!

I cannot believe how Google have messed up so bad!?

Unfortunately when it comes to selling hardware Google suck big time! :p

Like others on this forum I rather pay extra and get the phone without any stress of Google messing up the order and wondering whether the N4 will be delivered to you!

CPW and O2 have plenty of stock so if you've got the extra cash just pop into one of the branches and pick the phone up Mate.

You can officially get charged for the tax on any gift worth over $32, they don't always charge the extra but if they feel like it they are within their right to. I usually just get my mother to undervalue things a little when she sends them, only problem with this is pretty much no insurance

Such a shame Google can't get these out. I was wanting to reduce my monthly phone costs, currently £38pm and because these were so cheap i was going to buy one then get a cheap £15pm contract on three. But like others have said if theres such a big back order and other phones on the horizon, then i'm back to a £30+ pm contract to get a top phone. Dropped the ball big time i'm afraid Google, thats not to say i wouldn't buy one if they became available in the next couple of weeks.

Has anyone actually just been to a carphone warehouse store and picked one up, or do you need to purchase it online then get it delivered to store/home?

I went a carphone warehouse yesterday, and it had it in stock online but nothing instore :S...They also said apparently none of the carphone warehouse stores sell it sim free....

I bought mine from CPW yesterday, haven't picked it up yet though (delivered to store). Bloke that sold me it said the system said there was ~70 in the warehouse so could have sold out by today...
