***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

i assume if i got the nexus 4 from orange they would put their crap on it? or would it still be vanilla android?

Assuming you're talking about the CPW deal, it'll just be a SIM free handset from CPW with an Orange SIM. Orange won't even know what phone you've got until you tell them.

Can anyone recommend a car cradle for it yet? I've bought a generic car USB charger and retractable cable for use when driving... I understand Google maps is good for turn by turn navigation by sat nav.

Just go with a generic one from eBay. £8+ will get you a decent one, and I would recommend mine but it recently broke :p (but that was a £3 job).

And yes, I use Google Maps/Navigation regularly and it's awesome. I don't know where they get their traffic information from but it's ridiculously accurate.

Still setting mine up but the biggest disappointment so far is the position of the speaker. I rely heavily on my old mobile to wake me up in the morning but with the speaker on the back of the phone there's barely any volume when it's on my desk.

I just received a cheap TPU case for my N4 and it makes the device feel HORRIBLE. Any premium leather pouches out yet?
Does it matter how it feels as long as it's sufficiently protected?

I don't know how roughly people handle their phones but I've been using my current Nexus S for nearly 2 years with no screen protector and their isn't a single scratch on it. I don't quite get this whole screen protector and case business. Some manufacturers put so much effort into making the phones feel nice and then it all gets covered up by grubby plastic and cheap leather. I guess it's just a preference.

same with my s2 but then again if you look under really bright light - halogens for e.g. you can see tiny tiny hairline if that scratches on the screen! but then again i know they are there but i can't see them unless i really try to and under good light!

I try to take good care of my phone, however I did drop it once at the gym now I have a thin crack in the glass. I guess its better to be safe then sorry.

Had a little play around with this device at Gadget Show Live. Very nice, I must say.

The guy said that LG had recently shipped 1,000 devices to Google, but that 995 were for back orders. So there will be 5 new phones ready to order at some point :p
