***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Organised a replacement today. I had a problem where I couldn't hear people unless I used the loudspeaker option. Could someone shake their phone and see if they can hear a slight rattle from the back? I just wondered if this was the cause.

Very slight, but only if I hold the phone up to my ear and shake it pretty hard, can't hear it if I shake it normally.

Who was asking about the orb?

I've just ordered an HP Touchstone designed for the palm pre 3, which is not quite so sexy but should do the same job for £5.24

Touchstone won't work. If you can cancel it, do.

This came out pretty well, I thought:

For One X owners:

Have had my Nexus for a few days now just thought I'd give some information that might be relevant for you guys that are still waiting, i.e. possible concerns.

-Coming from the One X, initially I thought the One X screen was better but looking at them next to each other over time, the One X screen is certainly more saturated but also seems more cartoony now. The nexus 4 screen is definitely crisper, people say you cant tell the difference but you most certainly can! The nexus screen and build quality make it just feel like a grown up premium device. It doesn't actually looked washed out, it looks toned down, which is quite different.

-The sensitiveness is certainly not up there with the One X but it's totally fine, you get so used to it almost instantly, I find that the only the touches that don't register as much as are the ones where I hit the touchpad with the side of my finger, thumb touches always register. It's really not an issue, if a ROM changes it, cool, if not, not bothered.

-There is a buzz when the phone is on but I really have to put it by my ear and turn it around. You wouldn't have noticed it if the threads didn't exist, I imagine those people have the issue wheres its very loud

-It's not THAT slipper/breakable/fragile, if I drop it do I think it would break? Yeah, then again its exactly the same for my Desire HD and One X. I think Josh from the verge grossly exaggerated.

Honestly it's a step above the One X, I was running CM10 and this quite clearly blows it out the water, it's really really smooth. Is it worth the stress, probably not, it's not a generational leap or anything, it's more refinement.

had a play with one at cpw.. quite like it :) looks like a nice upgrade from s2.. but the "Security" thing kept on beeping which just annoyed the hell out of me.. plus it was strapped so its hard to have any feel for the phone! ill get it when google finally sorts the stock issues.. but for now my s2 is good enough

I've had my N4 for over 24 hours and my initial impressions coming from a S3:

The screen looked extremely washed out at first but using it more my eyes adjusted. Going back to my S3 showed how over saturated the AMOLED display was, so much so I had to adjust the settings on my S3. But there is no delaying the N4 needs some gamma adjustment. Compared to the iPad or HOX the colours on the N4 looks flat.

The N4 is is thicker and heavier than the S3. But I don't mind that as it gives a more premium feel. Having glass on both sides is nice but my N4 will be homebound until my screen protector and bumper arrives.

The first thing I did was root and install the PA rom and matrix kernel. After my first full charge I managed over 5 hours screen time, which is on par with the S3.

There's still quite a few features I miss from my custom S3. But as the Rom matures I hope to see some interesting stuff.
