***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

This is what I thought as I don't see the payment, I just see it missing from cleared funds. Bank says it will appear soon and has been taken. If the entry appears on my statement soon, I will call up and complain, as I was under the impression it is taken after shipping. Makes very little difference to me financially, but I am always wary of companies who take money before shipping, but claim otherwise on their site.

it is taken - you can't use the money, but its not taken i a way that the company would have to refund you :) they would just need to cancel the transaction and the money would be back in your account in seconds.

I was sat in my office chair and someone behind me wanted to show me something. I swung the chair round as you do and as I did I felt something akin to a chocolate bar in my pocket breaking. Knowing there was only my phone in there I knew what had happened. Just about to unroot and lock the bootloader, then I'm off to CPW in Watford to try and get a replacement.

Yeah its just earmarked and authorised but actually not taken. For an individual it pretty much boils down to the same thing.

So which pocket was it in - your back trouser one?

Hey,

I've probably missed this in all the "zomfg my order is on hold" posts :p but is there a list of current issues/problems with this phone?

Scanned over and there are quite a few posts stating broke glass, which is not cool.... and also poor battery life?

Cheers,

Su

Yep, so basically it will be held from my available funds, but I won't see a transaction appear, which I am OK with. Once I see the transaction on my statement is when I consider they have billed me and I will probably complain :)

The battery life, people have posted many screenshots and it seems certain processes are eating up too much or keeping the phones connections active too long. I think some people have isolated it to Google Now. 99% chance this will be resolved with an OTA update. For most people it is still lasting about 1 day, which is normal for smartphones these days (sadly!).

Cracked/shattered glass is just people being careless in my opinion. You see that with nearly all modern smartphones (I see a lot of people with broken iPhone screens or backs and a lot of HTC ones, but I'm sure its the people rather than the product at fault). I think most of the phones use Gorilla Glass, which should be quite resilient.

Some people are complaining the loud speaker is not loud enough. Others are glad as it means less chavs playing loud music instead of using headphones.

That's pretty sucky man, isn't the back of it supposed to be Gorilla Glass as well? You'd think it'd be tough enough to withstand being squeezed between a soft office chair and a man's butt! :(

Hopefully just a manufacturing defect on that one? I mean otherwise surely we would hear about a lot more breaking if it could be done that easy.

Front right pocket, as my phones always have been. I never carry anything in my back pockets, my arse is too big. :D
Wow that sucks - cant see how you could apply enough pressure on a corner to do that unless youve got thighs like Chris Hoy. At least you can walk into a shop to get it sorted...

I'm baffled by this! I swing my chair round all the time and it has no impact on anything in my pocket. Was it really tight in your pocket, or maybe hit the chair arm rest when you swung round?

Nope the back is just normal glass, people thought it was gorilla but then it was confirmed that its normal :(

This, LG and google have confirmed it, posted links/pics like 40 page ago :p Sadly all he reviews sites are stating it is gorilla glass :o

Also just because it gorilla glass, does not mean that it is tougher than ordinary glass and won't break when dropped, it is just more resistant to scratches/marks than ordinary glass.

I put a link to an imgur pic last page. I took some crappy ones on my SLR which I'll get round to uploading later. Right now I'm unrooting it etc then off to CPW.

ouch.

And just out of curiosity, is it cracked "underneath" When i see people with the same thing on iPhones, the glass is still smooth to the touch, as if it is cracked under the surface, or there is 2 layers etc.

No it's broken, bits of glass are coming off it.
