***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I think his point is that people put custom roms on to remove bloat and get a more stock feeling.

You dont get more stock feeling than a stock android phone.

The point is that Android is open source and playing with different ROMs made by developers to enhance features etc... and to isntall apps that need root permission, it's not all about being stock.

Hey man i aint arguing was just explaining his pov from how i understood it. I share it in a way, see no point in rooting a stock phone myself but to those that do its fair enough.

Seems to me you put on a custom rom that generally has some kinda bugs on it but is 'stable' enough to use daily...i dont get the point tho.

Apps that need root permission i can understand rooting though, just not a custom rom.

Except CM10+ and PA own stock Android.

In what way? Genuine question not trolling as i was going to try PA on my s3 due to lots of people using it but decided not to bother rooting as i will be recycling the s3 once my n4 arrives.

What enhancement/improvement does it provide over stock?

Well I've been told to get on my way and contact LG. Anyone got googles customer service number? I'll call them tomorrow before going to CPW head office.

Gives you loads of extra features and settings - just like nova/apex do over stock launcher.

Running PA 2.54, Phablet mode. Give me brightness silder along notification bar (like the old SGS2), Invisible pattern lock, menu button in nav bar, dpi per app and nav colour per app....the list is massive.

Er, so I just got home 10 minutes ago. There's a package waiting for me. Ah, it'll be my Threadless t-shirts I ordered earlier in the week. A bit early mind, wasn't expecting them until next week.

So I pick up the package and it's not padded and soft as it would be if it were t-shirts. Strange I think. What else could it be? Well it can only be the Nexus 4 that I ordered on Tuesday. But it can't possibly be, I've got a 4-5 week wait. So I open the package and out pops a boxed Nexus 4. :D:o:confused:

Strange thing was that before I actually opened the package I checked my email, no despatch or shipping notice and my order is still listed as pending.

Thanks Google. :D

Sorry but that really is ********! The retailer shouldn't be sending you to the manufacturer, you purchased it from them and there is a fault, it is there responsibility to sort this.

CPW have just gone on the list of companies I won't be using, dodgy gits.

Don't be daft. Tell CPW deal with everything. They even have their Geek Squad thing instore which is surprisingly very good when I've used it.

They try and repair it and if they can't send it to some central repair centre where they get it replaced if they can't repair it. They even have a very good online tracking system.

+1, they are responsible for replacing your product and then THEY should be taking it up with LG to get their cash back not you, go for the head office tbh.

Thanks kona, you sold me on the menu button to be honest :)

Yeah CPW should be giving you a replacement surely. Hope you get it sorted out, can see Google/LG having a few angry customers on their hands (besides stock issues) if the phones can smash easily.

And my order still says pending 5-6 weeks and no money has been taken out, so may turn up tomorrow lol.

Still waiting for my order to change from pending. Ordered on the 4th at 1710.

The doorbell went at around 1800 hours I thought maybe it's the N4 paying me a visit but it was a delivery for my Mum.

I'm not bothered TBH, as long as Google have taken the order and it gets delivered eventually.
