***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Just cancelled my pre-order online and ordered from Virgin Mobile as there seems to be little sign of stock.... as I've waited so long was now eligible for an early upgrade that I wasn't early Dec.

Yes, 5Ghz network refuses to connect, I believe this is a known fault (in 4.2x) with 5Ghz Wifi access points set in wide channel mode.
No problems on 2.4Ghz on any of the networks I connect to.

My phone doesn't work on the router at home, it connects perfectly fine and incredibily fast but never transfer any data at all. The wifi notication icon never goes blue aswell.

However it has worked on ever other Wifi router I have tried, and it must say its very fast, connects almost instantly which I have not seen on any other device I have used.

Been keeping my eye on this the thread at google: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40065 to see what happens. Tried dozens of things and nothing fixes it. Ususally works for 30 seconds or so after rebooting the phone or the router, then goes slow or times out. The fix here didn't help either, might work better for you.

I will try these fixes but so far I have tried different channels WiFi and other settings. Also tried other roms with no luck.

I have a 2.4GHz network at home with no luck.
 
Anyone have problems with Calendar Notifications?

I get no icon displayed on the status bar for my calendar reminders.

Running stock but rooted and using Pure Grid Calendar Widget though it happens regardless of whether I create entries using Pure or the stock calendar app.

I do receive the usual reminder alarms.

Sound, vibration and NLED all work fine.
If I pull down the notification bar the entry is there.

It is just the icon that is missing but I normally use the icon to keep events in my mind till I deal with them.

This is not a ROM issue. Have you tried a different kernel? Most of the custom kernels are now using the new WiFi drivers and msm_hsic wake lock has been fixed.

Apart from that you will have to till Google release 4.2.2.
 
exstending battery life

I have long day tomorrow and will be hammering battery with boring train journey as well.

Any tips for settings to extend battery life to max?

guess turn brightness low, wifi off, anything else should alter / disable?
 
Pop the charger in your bag? Otherwise everything that you mentioned plus google now and services like that off. Install Franco's kernel for a massive boost in battery life!

dont think iplayer can download tv programmes to watch offline on android yet?? Any other free comedy type downloads for viewing off line?
 
nope, though i'm hoping an update by end of next week. i ordered 9th, people on here 6th dec and still not got theirs, but i think 4th have so it's getting close. i think they stopped taking orders after the 9th/10th so hopefully then they'll allow more people to place orders

I'm probably being thick but I don't see where it says thats just for the 16GB. But if thats the case do you really think they made that many more 8GB? I'm guessing they'd expect that to be less popular, based on comments from people on here it looks like most ordered the 16GB. The 8GB seemed to go very quickly which I assumed was just due to low numbers.

I done some reading and someone mentioned D-LINK routers were buggy with the Nexus.
I run DD-WRT on a D-Link 615 so I thought I'd try upgrading the firmware and to my surprise, it worked! Apps now download instantly.
I was ready to exchange it or refund it as it was really getting on my nerves.
Hopefully you get yours sorted. :)
 
Damn, google play not available in Thailand so cannot check order status.

Seems to be stuck at preordered still though, I ordered at 8pm on the day everyone did for the 2nd batch...4th dec?


I'm a 4-5 weeker

I have this setup too, although never had a problem as I am an update whore and always have the latest version :D
