***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

LG halt N4 production ? Anyone seen this ? : http://www.androidauthority.com/nex...focusing-smartphones-nexus-5-included-146707/

I know it's a Rumor but OMG if it's true !

I'd be amazed if it was true.

The first reason they've given is that LG are focussing on their own new devices. Surely there would be some kind of contract or agreement in place when LG (presumably) won the bid to make this Nexus device, and surely that contract wouldn't say "make us some handsets until you get bored or fancy stopping to make your own stuff".

The second reason given was that they're making the Nexus 5, but surely Google wouldn't be crazy enough to bring out a new model so quickly, and its not like they need to.

But hey, who knows...

Ya the reasons in the article don't make much sense. But what I could see happening is very very low stock on Play and forcing people to buy off retail (I know for one that retail are getting regular stock)

I love how everyone is blaming LG and not Google - I know it's silly but Nexus 7 was hard to find when launched, Nexus 10 is not keeping up and Nexus 4 is like trying to find a pot of gold, and pay almost double it on eBay.

Crazy but I don't believe all 3 suppliers (Asus, Samsung and LG) can all flunk it with regards to supply. Retailers are happily getting stocks.

You guys should try out Chrome Beta, very fast on my Nexus 7 and GN.

Nexus 7 1386.0ms +/- 1.3%
GN 1343.0ms +/- 2.5%

Nexus 4 might get sub 1000ms!

Posted exactly the same thing in the Essential Android Apps thread:

Just installed the Chrome Beta...and uninstalled it immediately. Loading speed is around the same as on the AOSP browser (which I find has the best performance), however performance everywhere else is very jittery in comparison.

Shame how Chrome is still so poor really.

This Beta app shows there taking it more seriously now up at Google so hopefully we see some speedy performance. I personally love how tabs are handled on Chrome but overall the thumb controls are best on the stock browser. Wish they had it on Chrome aswell.

True. Will definitely keep an eye on the next couple of updates.

Tried SunSpider yesterday, and got around 1400ms. Exactly the same as the stock browser. Little reason to keep it right now.

I'm sure google must have minimum number to be built contract or something. Galaxy nexus was built and sold for more then a few months. Sounds like pure bs. LG would find it difficult to find third parties to collaborate with in the future if this is true.

Anyone got the Bugatti elements case like the one below ?, I'm really liking the green one. HTC One X is the size to get, right ?.

Nexus 4 Dimensions
133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm

HTC One X Dimensions
134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm

I'm getting a little pee'd off with the whole LG/Google thing!!.. I really want this phone!, I have the money sitting in an ISA waiting to be spent, and My Xperia Arc is more Flaky than a Cadbury's Flake at an Eczema sufferers convention!!

I don't know of any other similarly specced phones, with the same capabilities that I can afford!! :(

I don't buy the argument that LG are shipping stock to retail stores rather than Google. If Google are really selling at a loss or break even then they must be getting them for about 280, and I can't see the retail stores paying any more than that if they want to make a profit.

That's not how pricing works.
