***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I don't know why Google just don't set a RRP of £350-£400 across the board, instead of this pricing mess they've created.

Tbh I'm glad they sold me mine at £279, I've read they make $70 on each phone they sell on the US Play store, that's enough profit for anyone per device just shows what treasure trove the high st shops and networks have been sharing, if the price goes up it should be because the slaves in China are getting paid more.

Knowing Google, it was probably an experiment more than anything. I imagine the price of the Nexus 4 has made more than a few people stop and wonder why they're paying so much more for devices from Apple, Samsung et al.

They could've (and should've) set a 1 per customer limit on ordering if supply was going to be this scarce. I've seen screenshots of people on deal threads who managed to order 8 of them in one go.

It just leaves the people who weren't sat in front of their PC refreshing the Play store constantly for that 30 minute window when they're actually available with a bitter taste in their mouth, and surely the now widely known supply issues is worse PR than whatever positive PR they got from subsidising the phone.

It would, if Google could keep up with the demand. As it is people are just begrudgingly having to pay more for phones from carriers because they have no other options (unless you count paying ~£100 extra from eBay)

It made me stop and for good reason as you said, but now considering the poor customer service, even worse communications and near vapourware product availability, I know now why I spend more. All theyve done in my perception is devalue their Nexus/Play brand more.

Lets be honest if the next Nexus phone is not priced as aggressively are we all going to be as feverishly after it. I wont be...

I wouldnt be even surprised if they drop the Nexus name altogether for the next one as the only 'non-geek' marketing this one got is the negative publicity right now and unless they price it the same people are going to ask the simple question 'Why is this so much more expensive than the last one, even when you made a healthy profit at the discounted price?'. Google for such a big company, is extraordinarily naive at times.

I'm currently on the Enhanced Stock kernel by faux. All seems good so far, snappy on default settings and getting 4h+ screen on time.

The biggest battery draw comes from low signal and 3G drain for me.

Dropped my N4 yesterday..... I've taken a large chunk of chrome off around the frame which is now bugging the hell out of me. I'm annoyed because I've been trying for weeks to get the bumper which would have stopped this from happening.

Anyone know if its fixable for a reasonable cost or is it a complete new screen?

if its just the bezel, properly not, i'm sure it looks bad now, but i find when you chip a phone it fades in after a day or two, the shine wears off the damaged area

Well its lasted a week, droppped on the carpark floor and cracked the top right side of the screen. Really ****ed me off. Don;t know if its worth an insurance job though.

Time to buy a case me thinks.

I've knocked about an 2mm thick inch strip of chrome off and took chunks out of the plastic underneath the chrome so the top of my phone as you look at the screen as no longer nicely rounded and more lumpy looking. It firing my OCD twitch everytime I look at it, which is all the time due to my OCD.

Any pic? Interested to see the area to be more aware of how the phone can be damaged.

I'm getting a little pee'd off with the whole LG/Google thing!!.. I really want this phone!, I have the money sitting in an ISA waiting to be spent, and My Xperia Arc is more Flaky than a Cadbury's Flake at an Eczema sufferers convention!!

That's why I just went for it in November from CPW. £100 more but no hassle; I know everyone can afford it but otherwise I think I'd still be lusting.

can you continue to buy the bumper and not notice the damage as it'll now be hidden?

I'm getting even more itchy in the mouse finger thinking about this!!

£389.95 with Free Delivery, in the grand scheme of things, isn't really a 'Bad Deal'... Not for a Phone of 'This' Spec!!!

I'm just nervous that if I hit 'Buy', it'll come back into stock on Google the next day £110 cheaper!! :(

I have £300 in an ISA, my old phone is only worth £64 from most 'Recycle' sites and I could offset the rest (including a Bumper/Case, Desk Dock and Car Cradle) using my Trusted 'Flexible Friend!'

I don't know what to Dooooooooooo!!!! :( :(

i'm not expecting it to come into stock any time soon as they still need to deal with orders as far back as 04/12 and it seems they aren't sending out any atm, though it's my understanding that they stopped taking orders on 10/12 so there wont be a further back log to come, however mine was 09/12 and i've had diddly squat communication from them. if you can i'd give it to the end of the week and see what happens
