***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Come on, created an account, and trying to sort out payment + delivery settings if possible before it becomes available so I can hopefully get in there to order ASAP.

I can't believe it's almost February and there are still tons of people looking for these.

It is good that they are finally coming back into stock though

Can someone confirm its £280 excluding shipping but including VAT?

Just looking at the us screenshot and I'm concerned..

Also, how much is shipping?

Edit: for 16GB

How many people on here are not using a case? I've never had a case on any of my phones and never had a problem, but with the glass back does the Nexus 4 need one? Thanks

I use a case but will probably rock it naked once I get my back dbrand vinyl sticker and screen protectors. Probably use a pouch.

I'm using one, already read enough posts in this thread of cracked phones! I'm not a clumsy person at all and I treat my phones very well (as my previous immaculate Galaxy S2 will attest) but the Nexus seems like it's just a bit too easy to crack or scratch.

I'm really thinking about ordering one of these (when they come back into stock), currently using a SG1 and it's slow as anything!

Worth saying that aside from the fact the back isn't raised (which would be a bit silly IMO), the glass isn't any more or less scratch or crack prone than any other device. Cracks from drops will always be down to luck, and scratches...glass will scratch if there is a grain of dirt or sand underneath.

I go case-less as I ensure I put my phone down on clean surfaces and am not remotely clumsy. However, no matter the device, it is ridiculous for anybody who is butter-fingered to not use a case. These complaints that x-smartphone isn't tough because their glass displays crack are similar to claiming that a china mug is crap because it shatters when you drop it outside. Can't really expect it to survive. And these complaints about one device's glass being more easily scratched than another (as in, the glass itself being easily scratched)..."stupid" is the only suitable word.

If you're a bit careful you won't have any problems at all :)

It isn't stupid at all.

Some devices are just more "prone" to cracking/scratching due to the design or glass that is being used.

i.e. the GS 3 and iphones screens are more likely to shatter when dropped due to the glass going right to the edge, where as with the likes of the GS 2 etc. it is less likely to happen, plenty of videos on youtube showing drop and scratch tests.

Yes luck does play a huge part in it, but if the design is like the iphone, GS 3 and especially the nexus 4 then you know that there is more chance of a crack happening when dropped compared to the likes of the GS 2 etc.

As for the glass back on the N4, there are plenty of people saying that their back has scratched a lot despite being careful with it, iirc even sites like android central have mentioned it too and the majority of people who have dropped their nexus 4 have said that their screen or/and back have cracked.

Comparing a china mug to a mobile when dropped.........
