***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Just phoned talkmobile who i'm with at the moment for an initial look at what they can offer on a sim only deal, I was told:

£12 for 3000texts, 600minutes and 750mb data
£18 for unlimited texts, 1500minutes and 1gb data

Both tied in for 6 months. What are peoples thoughts on these?

Edit: ^^ ahh, that sounds interesting then, what is the 3 network like these days? My parents were on it for a while a few years back and it was hopeless around the Manchester area so that puts me off a little.

In my area Three give me by far the best coverage for every day use out of all the networks, especially for data, however as with all the networks I guess it varies depending on location.

You're living in the past if you want physical buttons on the phone. ish

As someone else pointed out, if it werent for a big fat bezel with nothing on it then i would agree with you. But if you have all that space below my screen doing nothing, then put buttons on it and give me more screen to look at.

The Galaxy Nexus got the soft-buttons spot on - the whole screen is just few millimeters below centre.

Larger top bezel, smaller bottom bezel:

It's such a nice design, I have one coming tomorrow. :0

Having owned all the best Android phones this year, IMO on screen buttons are better. They're the most ergonomic and flexible vs. hardware buttons.

To me the bottom bezel on the N4 looks around the same size as the Galaxy Nexus perhaps 1mm bigger however the top bezel is significantly smaller, so not entirely sure I agree.

The bottom bezel complaints are a little exaggerated anyway aren't they I mean sure physical buttons would probably have been nice in this situation, however it's not like there's an iphone sized bezel on it...

I just meant the GNex looked more pleasing to the eye with is off-centered screen. The black nav bar on the Nexus 4 makes the usable screen space to look too high up in the overall design.

I'm nitpicking though - it's no real concern to me. The Nexus 4 looks great there^^

Luckily with mods we should be able to alter the height of the nav bar buttons and give them some transparency.

I'm thinking the phone will look amazing with -50% nav bar height and 50% transparency on both the status bar and the nav bar. :)

The iphone 5 looks better for video recording overall. N4 looked better in lower light conditions. The first part of the leaves looks better on the N4, more clearer and more detail captured but it looked like the iphone 5 didn't focus on the right part...

1st photo = nexus 4 by a mile
2nd photo = iphone 5 by a mile
3rd photo = iphone 5 by a good bit in terms of clarity/sharpness in the leaves

Roll on the comparisons to the one S/X
