***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I'm extremely tempted, BUT the camera is holding me back, My Xperia one is fantastic, i just miss the Dev comunity of Nexus phones :o

the rest of the phone makes up for the camera and at £200 you can't really complain for the spec.

maybe you should take a look at a £100 phones camera, the nexus 4 is still decent for a phone camera, just that the top top end beat it considerably.

So glad I didn't buy one last month, ordered a 16GB this morning but still showing as pending, this had better not turn in to the launch fiasco, I gave up after waiting 2 months back then, by the time they had stock I couldn't be bothered to get one.

Going to keep my S2 as a dashcam as I have the official car dock.

My Samsung S3 is currently broke and banking on the insurance to sort it out as they've messed up and terminated my policy!!! And I hate it being blue.

Do I jump in to buy a Nexus 4 over my S3 or is that silly?

Had the phone say os update available AGAIN
stock rom but is rooted and AGAIN it fails
gonna disable updates i reckon
(don`t want to reflash with new rom yet,in case I break it :D )
Had a spare day so decided to flash to latest using wugfresh toolkit
Took ages, dunno what was going on but got there in the end :)
Hope any more update are going to give me this amount of trouble

Home insurance have personal cover?

I've had both the S3 and the N4. Aside from the camera and audio output, the N4 is in a different league. Furthermore, custom ROMs for the S3 simply don't work unless they are TW based, whereas custom ROMs for the N4 are typically dead stable.

No home insurance as ive just moved into my flat from living with parents. Just the company I bought the phone from transferred my sort code to the insurance company backwards!!

Might give the N4 a spin, looks so much nicer as well.

Nexus 4 at its current price offers outstanding value vrs performance. You can't lose. Just make sure you get the 16 gig as the 8 you'll run out of room in no time if you actually want to put apps, music and games on

I've decided to give it a miss, even though its an amazing deal, PS4 is more important.

The only flaw that bothers me with the Nexus 4:

Viewing angles fair well (top, bottom, left, right), but when viewed on from an angle, like when the corners are facing you, the entire screen turns into a bright, washed out mess. Almost white even. I understand this might not bother most folks, but it also means you have to look at your phone from head on to keep the display looking its 100% best.

...but at this current price it wouldn't put me off.

Yeah but what are the chances anyone will be looking at the screen at that angle for any length of time..

Example: Youtube with phone resting on a surface while doing something like cooking.

Any sort of contrast and colour shift bothers me - it mainly to do with eye candy more than anything. Better screens get around this issue.

As said in the quote - it doesn't bother most folk.
