***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

best place to sell my second hand n4 larger sized hard drive model?

ebay is looking like the best place for maximum return, obviously set up your listing correctly to stop morons from being able to bid on it.

Sold my 8gb for 170 the other day, it was only four months old.

wow, 16GB are selling for less than that on ebay, whereabouts did you sell it? gumtree?

but i imagine in google's experience it does. it's enough that they wont bring it to nexus 4. i don't see why they'd add a low powered cpu to the n5 and waste money if it makes no difference.

What low powered cpu? The feature only works when the phone is awake. There is no always on feature like on the Moto X that requires a super lower power cpu.

Cant decide on a secondhand N4 or the new Moto G. I'd be all over the Moto G but 8GB is very limiting. How much would I be looking for a secondhand N4? Or are there any other Android alternatives? Getting a bit sick of my Lumia 520.

Loads of android alternatives, then again that is another thread. At the moment as a man I would get either an htc one or a lg s2, woman I would get a note 3.

The n4, which I have is a great phone for 150 though :-)

think my nesus 4 is close to death, it hasnt been able to connect to any wifi over past couple weeks and a couple days ago i noticed the screen wouldnt come out of sleep mode, the screen would stay grey and then today its doing it allot more nearly every time i bring it out sleep mode. The screen is moslty always grey like this pic

a few times its 80% grey but top of the screen comes on but its back to front and a redish pink lind down the screen

I think i have had it less then a year

have you tried a factory reset?

I sold my N4 for £160 on Gumtree. I figured it was better than way than getting £180-ish on eBay and paying out £25 in fees!

i basically figured this out after selling mine, if your selling a phone worth over £100 then it's not worth doing it on ebay. all previous phones I have sold have all been under £150 mark and been fine for ebay.

Sad to say but I sold my Nexus 4 on ebay for £180. Now have an HTC One though. Think I will root this and put stock 4.4 on :)

how are you posting your phone? because Royal Mail will only insure a phone to the tune of £50, say if something does go wrong.

I'm thinking of using recorded delivery and just saying it's a gift which is a £200 watch, so if anything does happen I can claim the full cost of the item back, if I tell them it's a phone, and something goes wrong im about £150+ out of pocket.

Special Delivery = fully insured.

yeah just back and special delivery is fine for sending phones within the UK.

the other phone was being sent to ireland and to get all the necessary insurance, etc cost like £13 to post even though it's a stones throw away.

looks like gumtree is the future, no chance of dodgy buyers claiming it arrived damaged or wasn't in the box, or didn't match the ebay description, etc. no more dealing with huge p and p fees as well as ebay and paypal fees.

I'm impressed you got it sent fully insured for £13 to be honest, usually outside of the UK it's a huge hike to have it covered.

I take it you didn't use RM/ParcelForce then?

Royal Mail, the other phone cost £6-£7 special delivery which means it will be there tomorrow before 1pm and insured for up to £500.

£13 ensures insurance up to £500 iirc as well as taking up to 2-3 days to get to Ireland.

The one going to Ireland is actually travelling a smaller distance but across the sea, whereas the other is travelling due south over land. So distance wise it's less but cost twice as much to post. It also varies in how it's tracked and recorded iirc with special delivery being better.

Looks like posting within the UK is a much better option, I usually post to anywhere within Europe and EU to get more bidders, but it looks like with price hikes that gumtree and selling locally is the future.

That sounds like Airsure Small Packets?

If so, no matter what you've said to them, it's not insured. It's a bloody con that service.

It says ISF Air SP £500 on the receipt

I had to pay extra for the insurance was about £2.50 extra iirc. Otherwise I was only covered for like £20-£50 on the other options available.

If it says £500 on the receipt then it must be insured to that amount. Otherwise would have cost me £10 to ship to Ireland.
