Did you update the bootloader and radio as well.

Been looking at doing this myself, but Odex or De-Odex, zip, or BAT file - hurt my head so still on 4.3 with Franco Kernel and root etc.

Just flashed what ever is here on the Google website!

With a small edit to the .bat file (removing the -w) and deleting the 'Userdata.img' from the .zip to retain Data and Root

Any chance of a brief step by step guide? I've not rooted my N4 yet, but would be happy to do so.

It is really. I had the N5 for a few days but the N4 feels/looks much nicer.

My year old N4 has a badly smashed screen (you can still see everything, but touch doesn't work). I'm trying to work out what to do with it, it seems I'll only get about £30 from the phone recycling places. Anybody got any other ideas?

I've flashed the latest Purity rom which is now 4.4 based. It's rather nice. Had to change the screen DPI to 268 as everything looked too big at the normal size.

repair it yourself?

or take it to the local indy shop after buying all the parts and pay for labour of repairing it. the touch part though is expensive. so it won't be cheap. it also not being a well known phone the parts are hard to get a hold of and adds even more to the costs.

I did enquire into this but it just didn't seem worth it. After getting the parts and paying someone to repair it the total cost would have come close to what I could sell it for anyway.
