***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I use my earphones when I'm out walking or my gf is watching "important" tv at all other times I use the speakers on tabs or phones, especially when I lie on my bed watching vids or tv, surely it's the same for every user.

I'd be surprised, sound quality is always better using even a mid range set of headphones, plus no annoying people you live with if it's late at night.

thep02 - it's been a long while :D

Still have your Note and 7.7?

Does the Nexus 4 interest you at all?

If I'm using my phone within the house then I'll plug it into a small portable speaker, nothing major but much better sound quality than you tend to get from a phone. Very rare I use the inbuilt speakers, and lets face it even those that are good aren't great.

Nothing beats a good pair of headphones.. The speakers are dire!

Be interesting to see you guys who are getting it review's

It really should be worrying me that I am this excited about a new phone.

ME TOO. i think part of the excitement for me is from the fact that only a few weeks ago i had no idea what phone i'd want, even when this was rumored it seemed like it would be only a small step up from my sgs2, but as soon as it all got officially announced, with the tiny price tag i was hooked and am now waiting for the 13th. every time i look at my sgs2 i am thinking "soooon, sooooon my love you will be gone and i will have a n4 in my hands instead"

I'm not massively excited. In fact I'd probably rate my excitement at about 5, vs. 10 for the Galaxy Nexus. Kinda been there, done it sort of thing. Also this is quite an iterative release, rather than being full blown awesome like the GNex.

Don't get me wrong, not saying it's a bad phone and I'll definitely be getting one on launch. Just not going mental this time.

I think I'm in exactly the same position with some growing gadget lust. I'm also making the switch from iOS having had an iphone 3g and currently a 4. Any major pointers from those who have come from iOS to android?

You’ve echoed my sentiments but this time I will not be rushing out to get one.

I must say that I am extremely excited. Pretty much solves every issue that I've had with Android in the past, in a very well designed package (I loved the GNex at the front but the internals had too many drawbacks, poor battery life, etc).

The only downside I can really see is the low storage, but frankly I don't see myself using a huge amount of space anyway; my 64GB iPhone (I was actually hoping to buy the 32) will typically have around 6GB or so used with music, so presuming that we have 13GB free, I certainly will have plenty of space (plus Google Music when it launches along with the phone).

And this time, I hopefully should be able to simply root the stock ROM, and leave it at that. Not faff about the CM10 (which I think is fantastic, but doesn't really offer anything else anymore).

Very quick question, I've seen people mentioning using a OTG USB cable for external storage. Does this just work? Or do you need to install anything, and if so is it just a standard app or does it involve more messing about?

There isn't much talk on actually buying the phone in here yet.

So it is released for sale on 13th November, how quick is delivery from the Play store? And how any do you think they will have available?

I can see the site crashing from too many people trying to buy it. :o

I have decided to go for this one as my next phone! It's so cheap, I could upgrade in 6 months time if something better comes along!

I would like to know what time they go on sale, so I can be there ready.. Need to have all my card details either saved, or in notepad ready to cut and paste into the form!!

These are all unanswered questions I'm afraid, there's no way to know when on the 13th they will go on sale.

We do know that the phone is purchasable on the 13th however meaning it isn't a preorder going up it's a full purchase and shipping should happen relatively soon after ordering provided you are fast.

I expect it to back-log pretty fast, so we all need to be on our toes ready to order on the 13th, I guess we will see how well Google's site will handle the traffic. :)

I'm not sure, if its not going to be available to order before the 13th what's the point in google having a register interest thing with an email telling you when its available? That makes it seem like they may take orders before the 13th.
