***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Well just thought I would let people know I retract what I said about the Lumia 630. Just too much of a down grade from a nexus 4. It has gone back to the shop.

Although saying that I have picked up a lumia 535 which is quite passable as a temp replacement for the nexus as a work phone and only £79 good value and soo much better than the 630.

Think when at home though nexus and android will rule.

Yep the app side is a step to far back. The general work phones are windows phones and the comment from those who are used to iphone and android is the lack of apps.

My z3 all came in. It's a big step up from the n4 in price as well as battery and camera and having a sd slot is a joy. Generally very pleased with it - the sony ui is pretty slick and not that far removed from standard android which was a relief.

Only gripe so far is the use of buttons and slots along the sides of the phone making it difficult to use with a standard car phone holder - which is a shame as I use the phone for handling music/radio etc in the car.

Battery consumption is very good - which is always one of the big things moving to a nexus. Had it on 13 hours so far and its down to 46% - 3hrs of which is screen time!

I do like the sony phones as I had a xperia 1 which was a great phone just hampered by Sony lack of updates.

To be honest I really want a nexus 6 when funds allow, its just a shame the camera and digitizer have packed up on the nexus 4 as everything else work fine.

I think Google dropped the ball with the N6 - size is just crazy large - if it has been a 5' ish phone i'd have been very tempted but not 6.

I don't think you are missing out if the camera has failed on the n4 :) Stopped using the camera sometime ago - became a little embarrassing quite how bad it was

Hi, i am having problems with my nexus 4. when i make a call sometimes.. i hear nothing, not the dial tone or the person on the other end, just silence.
Restarting the phone seems to cure it, so i am having to restart phone quite a bit.
Can anyone think what maybe causing this problem other than a software issue? Another issue i have is that it drops my wifi connection every so often there is nothing wrong with the wifi setup as my laptop and tablet do not have this problem
Ideally I do not want to wipe and reinstall everything on my phone; but if i do is there an easy way to do this.. so i don't lose all my phone's apps and their contents please?
I did unlock my phone at one stage, but have been using the stock ROMs for a while getting all the updates OTA from google, on version 5.0.1.
Thanks in advance guys :)

I have been having the issues with the phone calls. I had it setup to go through my bluetooth device in the car. I rang someone and it connected but no voices. They rang me and again no voices. Restarted phone, reconnected and dialled again and everything working fine.

No idea what it is, time for an upgrade methinks

Still got mine and it's working flawlessly. There aren't any other phones on the market that are really tempting me to upgrade at the moment.
I'm going to wait until october/november time when the new nexus will be due as the Nexus 6 is simply far too big.

I've still got mine, although I think it might have bitten the dust on Friday night. It did something it has done before, comes up with a red light when trying to charge from dead, I was able to recover it last time, doesn't look so promising this time.

Mine had been suffering the call issues since upgrading to lollipop and more recently had been suffering horrendous drain caused by gmail, turning off all gmail sync had rectified the battery drain, but less than ideal. It's a real shame, my first N4 was bulletproof, never had a single problem with it, I bought this one after my first got pinched at a gig, and it's been noticeably flakier since day 1. I got it after google had stopped selling the 4 so I've got to take it up with LG rather than the straightforward CS with google, I'd been putting it off, but currently trying to dig out my serial number to register my warranty with LG, I'm hoping for a replacement but not sure what chance there is of that so far down the line, it's still got a years warranty left, so they'll have to do something.

grabbed a nexus 4 as a spare phone

not had one since it was released, whats the got to ROM for it these days?
I've reverted to stock, I've not used anything else that's as nice as lollipop, going back to any ROM based on an earlier version feels a real step backwards.

I got a replacement screen off Ebay last week for the Nexus 4, and it was great for 5 days until I dropped it about 10cm on its edge, chipping it and eventually leading to it cracking. It still works but erratically. The reason it cracked is because the screen is flat and not curved around like the original so it is easier to chip.

Has anyone got a replacement screen that has the curved edges? The one I had didn't, and I don't think I can claim anything back... :(
