***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Was going to get one of those SIM cutters but O2 will send you a new SIM for free, so I've done that instead.

On another note, does anyone know how long the Google Play store takes to ship/deliver? I was hoping for next day (considering the £10 delivery charge) but a friend pointed out his Nexus came from Dublin. If anyone here bought a Nexus 7, how long did it take from ordering to the device being in your paws?

Even from Dublin, for £10 delivery with TNT it should be next day. It says 1-2 days from order time on the Play Store so I think they're leaving themselves some wriggle room.

Sorry if this has been asked before (I'm sure it has), but O2's month of exclusivity is only for contracts, right? I'd like to replace my iPhone 4 with a SIM-free N4 next week.

Correct. You'd be mental to get it on a contract anyway, the whole appeal of this phone is the price really and the contracts so far don't seem particularly cheap.

But then, people seem to happily sell kidneys in order to pay for the ludicrously expensive iPhone contracts, so who knows.

Does anybody have any idea of what time the Nexus 4 will be released for order? I wonder if it be at 00:00, what time did the Nexus 7 get released? I might be staying up late refreshing all night :D

I wonder what price networks get phones for. They can't be paying anything like the sim free prices.

Even so I can't see O2 picking up an S3 for close to the price they can get an N4. Question is do they push the N4 really hard for those fat profits or price it out of the market in an attempt to kill it off.

My take is that they're pricing it equivalent to the S3 et al because it's a similarly high-end phone (purchase price aside). People who just blindly sign up for contracts likely won't know that it's so cheap SIM-free.

They seem to recognise that there's a lot of fuss about the phone which is why they've jumped on the exclusivity deal for it, but they've apparently missed the point of why the fuss exists in the first place.

That sounds about right really. It is only a minority of us that know about sim free price.

I've been putting off buying a new phone for quite a while as all the 4.7 inchers seemed way to big and nothing around 4.3" appealed. Now with the N4 I think heck it's worth a punt at that price. Chances are I'll get used to the size.

For the first time in years I am now without a phone after selling my SGS2 ans swapping my contacts etc over to a new micro SIM. I feel naked :(

I had better bloody get one of these when they are available to buy from GP! :D

Well I don't as a rule, just put the standard phone only contacts on my new SIM and cleared out the crap ready for a new phone. When I get the new phone I'll redo all the other contacts from various accounts again. It was just a mess, so wanted to start with a clean slate.

on upgrade, tmobile is offering note2 lte for £340 with same price plan..my plan should be £25 but I do pay £10 and have some extras on top of it for free...need to double check if I would be still paying £10 if I upgrade.if that would be the case, then it will be really difficult choice between note and n4

1. Sell Note2
2. Buy N4
3. Profit ;)

I can't believe that these handsets are popping up on ebay for as much at £489 (16gb) + £8.49 postage and people are buying them. And he has this in the description.. "Manufacturer's expected release date 20.11.2012."

Crazy.

With the Asda recycling, is it possible to register for the price and then cancel it a week later, if for example someone wants to buy my phone? That should be okay shouldn't it?
