I have a brand new 2019 MacMini, and it has issues with screen glitches and if resumed after sleep/powered on then continuously flickers the screen. It looks like this is a common problem caused by timeout syncs. When the race condition works it remains stable until the next resume/power on.
Sounds like you might have a hardware fault. I have a 2019 Mini and it's fine when resuming from sleep. Best log a support call with Apple.

It's fine given an hour with the monitor switched off - I think it's more the old NEC 20WGX2 monitor and DVI.

The update hasn't made a difference from initial startup.

Does anyone here make use of APFS snapshots? Twice in the past month I've had to restore from Time Machine backups which of course isn't a quick way to restore! I would like a tool to create maybe weekly snapshots. Just use cron I guess?
