I know how you feel. The cutscenes are so frequent that it is hard to settle into the game, and some of them suddenly fast forward a couple of days and plonk you in a totally different location.
I am forcing myself to go on just to see the final outcome but it is so tedious in doing so. The enemies never stop coming.
I know this is like an ultra late reply but for me it would not let me skip cutscenes despite having the game on an ssd :S. I really loved the game on the first complete mind ^^

Im also considering buying it since I haven't played the series, is the single player and multiplayer fun and any dlc that are worth getting too?
would appreciate any opinions on it.
Thanks
I thoroughly enjoyed the SP, enough for me to replay it and that doesn't happen too often! The only thing that annoyed me was the 'interference' effect that litters cutscenes etc, as Kainz mentioned above.
Haven't even tried the MP. Shame all of the DLC is MP maps etc, would have bought it all if it was SP story or missions.
My point was if you're on a poverty stricken internet line, you'd do well to avoid this game. Purely based on size alone.
If you are on a bad connection (200-300kb/s) and you CAN afford to keep your pc running for 10+ hours a day as you download the thing - then by reading the other users comments this game appears to be well worth it.
