I really don't understand you're fascination with FPS. 30fps is perfectly fine for most games that are not fast action FPS or something, especially fine for FSX using TIR. MS Flight runs fast because it looks pretty rubbish, it's certainly not "next gen" graphics.
TIR is used by pretty much all flying GAMES, see my example of even things like hawx so that's not really an excuse for not implementing it.

From what I have just read tonight no, may be posted over at AVSIM soon if not already.
The problem we have here is posters are bashing Flight for a game that it is not & does not claim to be.
It's like me bashing need for speed for not being like iRacing.
But still posters don't get it & seem so shocked that it does not have things that FSX has, if someone can show me where is say it was going to then please to. Never in 15 years of being on the net have I seen people not get a game & think for some reason it was going to be something else & still don't get it.
If you think 20 FPS is playable then that's ok but for me 20FPS that FSX does drop to is unplayable, using track IR at stop & do frame rates is no fun it's not at all smooth, In Arma max out its nice & smooth.
There is no fascination about it 20-35 FPS is no fun if you are happy in a start go start go frame rate in the year 2012 then thats all good.
For me the graphics for a flying game are fine as it's more about the flying which Flight for a GA point of view does very well & better then FSX so I hear over at the AVSIM Forum.

Garsands clearly has some sort of hidden agenda with respect to MS Flight. Either that or he is a member of the < 15 age group who have the right hormone balance to get a kick out of this.

Yes I started it as I have a passion for aviation and I genuinely hoped there was something worth seeing here. When 90%+ of all the comments/articles/blogs I have read have expressed disappointment with this release you still seem to be ever present with your praise and approval of this drivel.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course but you are just coming across like a bit of a tool with twisting everything around to make this seem like the best thing since sliced bread.
Please remind me on the plane with no cockpit issue?

It ended up good for a lot of other people.

I have never played Hawx so I can't say, download it & find out then you will have your own answer.
Unless you have to pay for your data download by the MB then you may not want to risk it.
Its 1.4GB & fast download speed.
You have constantly been babbling like a 3 year old about the haters and all those who are out to destroy the name of the game. The thread was started by someone who loves aviation. The end result is disappointment for so many. This is a forum for opinion. You may like it, I may not. All this bickering about people out to derail the thread etc blah blah.

where can a newbie get that fun in Flight ?

No, to be fair, MS Flight has a much more realistic flight modelling than HAWX. But damage modelling is probably worse (but hey, FSX had NO damage modelling).
I personally will not fly without trackIR (and it does not have to cost 100£- I bought mine from auction site for £30, there is also Freetrack that is ...uhm.. free; TrackIR is a revolution in flying games and i'm sure Flight will support it very soon)

Graphics do look quite poor in videos, water is the worst water that I have seen in flight games. Nothing to woo the crowds of casual gamers with unfortunately. Best looking flight game for casual gamers is still Wings of Prey which came out 2 years prior to FLight.
The biggest hope is that development of Flight will carry on like it did with also very raw upon release Rise of Flight and IL2:Cliffs... I'm think Flight's budget was bigger than those Russian efforts, would be a shame it stayed in this state...

I'm a complete flight sim noob, looking for an arcade flight combat sim experience with some of the perks of of a realistic flight sim. I haven't got a stick, just a controller.
I've looked at Wings of Prey and this, but neither seem to scratch my itch..

I am not a fan of pure arcade combat flight games, but I know there is also "Apache Air Assault" that you could look at... LockON Flaming Cliffs 2 also has a decent arcade mode- if you prefer modern jets.
But I would say, if you 're looking to get that fresh experience - to feel like flying, you need to get a tracking device like TrakcIR, Freetrack or FaceTrackNoIR (this just uses your webcam, no need to buy anything)... and maybe a cheap saitek aviator joystick (£17). This will scratch your itch guranteed.

Found the info why you do not see specialist devices like TrackIR supported, yet anyway. They are looking at the bigger market even to be played on smart phones ect.
Just trying to ease the blow for you when it comes to being shocked about what it is & what it's not.
Later on they may look at having flight per installed with windows 8 on new pc's this is how that will let non gamers see it.
