*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

it does indeed, just a darn shame it doesn't have a kickstand, I can't believe other companies haven't followed, it's so useful and so easy to include.

It has the keyboard dock so I dont mind. The real shame is the dock doesn't give it any extra juice when connected.

Noticed the Chi is now available on purple shirts, but costs £800  a lot more than the Surface3 :(

There's a £670 version as well, drops it down to 4gb ram, which is pretty good value, compared to surface 3 + keyboard. Seeing as you getting a core M as well rather than atom. got to remember to add on price of keyboard.

Windows 10 has solved the biggest issue I had with my Surface Pro 3, text scaling on multiple monitors.

I can now have 100% on my external at the same time as 150% on my Surface screen.

Bye bye Desktop!

Thats good, the number of monitors I've had to go through to find one that looked passable..

Might stick it on my Pro3 now then, other than that how is "Tablet Mode" behaving.
Have they done anything about the resuming from sleep issue that's plagued all Pro's since day 1?

Pre ordered the Surface 3 with student discount so got the 4GB one for £450. Cant really complain at that. I don't need the pen or keyboard since I've been using a note pro 12.2 for the past 8 months or so and haven't used the pen once. I only use it for watching movies and internets. The split screen on the note pro makes it lag like a bitch so I'm hoping this is a straight upgrade for my uses.

Not tried much yet, it detects the switch when removing the keyboard.

The only ever resuming from sleep issue I have is the Desktop version of Skype has issues with not reconnecting properly.

have installed over my Win7 install on my main rig, ok so far, apart from Outlook pooping its pants but thats the 2016 preview so expecting a few hiccups, will probably wait until the next build or at least until the end of the month when I get back from my trip...

Got to try the new S3 in a store today. It is very nice, very similar to the excellent SP3.

I know it is lighter, but it still feels as dense as the SP3 in a good way.

Tempted but managed to resist, only as in my head I have a better still current model.

Any ordered one yet?

Finally upgraded from my SP2 8GB/512GB model to an SP3 i5 8GB/256GB. Still not 100% sure of the new layout for the ports, physical buttons and home button, but I do love the fluid kickstand and "snappable" type cover.

I think I also prfer my SP1/SP2's Wacom based pen over the newer N-Trig pen, but cest-la-vie, I'm no artist so either will do me for OneNote.

£377 including dark blue type cover and still in warranty until October, so I'm happy :)

Anyone with an SP3 recommend a good sleeve? I was using a SwissGear sleeve with my SP1 then SP2, but it's obviously too small for my SP3. Need something with a large enough pocket to house the charger and some cables/usb sticks.

Second hand, I assume? That's a steal!

I'm considering plumping for the S3 at the moment, but if I can get a good deal on the SP3 that's the way I want to go.

My uses would be occasional office work, web browsing and a little bit of gaming (just Football Manager and Civ really). Would an S3 do for me?

Yeah, second hand. All but my first 64GB Surface Pro 1 have been used. Perks of working for a mobile phone/device recycler.

I was going to plumb for an S3 until this SP3 cropped up, and I'm glad it did! No idea if FM will run on an S3 though, but Civ runs ok on my SP2 and SP3.
