*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Not long to go then.

Lenovo or surface 4.
Will surface 4 be fatness and a core M version. If not most likely Lenovo depending on charge time.

Given up on the Chinese tablet, back on surface 2 (rt version)

Not sure I'll get a new surface. But just genuinely interested to see the new version. See how they give Apple a run for their money.

Ill imagine same form factor, Skylake CPU, same memmory / hdd configs maybe moving over to USB C hoping will get more than 1 port.

**But** MS did say somewhere that SP3 accessories would work with future versions, so maybe a USB port is replaced with two C's

Don;t most of the rumours say that it will be a slimmer form factor, due to the a fanless design... or something like that ? Wishful thinking, more than anything based on fact?

I can't see it being slimmer.

As said ms have said that current peripherals would work. Even things like keyboards are matched on thickness, ok they would work, but would not be good looking.
And I can't see skylake being fatness either.

I am hoping there will be a core m version with the fan taken out and maybe the cooling holes not cut.

If they go for Core-M then it could indeed be thinner and fanless. That's moving in to the territory of the normal Surface 3 though and away from the performance of the Pro.

I bet we get a new Surface 4 that's running Core-M and a Surface Pro 4 that's running Skylake in the same chassis as the SP3 but with the addition of Type-C.

Core m is in the same ballpark as the i3 though and miles above atom. Two very different markets imo.
I hope it's not thinner though, as that would require more peripherals, just when they make the chassis don't cut the cooling holes in it.

It looks like it'll all be skylake, just will i3 or M be the lowest.
I really hope the core M is in the bottom end one.

Still at least I have options now, the Lenovo looks very capable and only $699 with keyboard included, all though the pictures I've seen suggest USB charging, which would be dog slow.

Still nothing new on the rumour front either, TechBell'Dar are recycling old articles, re-dating them, changing author and then reporting them to get the click-bait, asshats...

Looking forward to the SP4 launch, you can already get almost-new i5 128Gb SP3 with a cover for $700 on Swappa which is ridiculous, interested to see what they do with the type cover etc - if that gets knocked down by $50-100 by Christmas I'll be picking one up for sure!

And a kickstand? Assuming that's actual render off it.
This is what OEMS should have done when win8 was released. Hardware for the past 3or so years has been pants.

10hrs must be core m as well.
