*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Keen to see what the new pro version brings.
I was looking at one of the current ones last week and was really impressed with the screen and responsiveness of it - though i guess with an i5 it should be good!
Liked the touch keyboard too but really wish they would bundle it or lower the price as it adds a big chunk to the cost.

will sit back and relax today while watching live blog from either TheVerge or Engadget.
starts at 3pm
after that, propably will make up my mind if to wait for surface 2 or just go for one of the current tablets on the market.

still not completely sure if to go RT or full windows...

Ill be ***** off is the rumor is true and no monile broadband is incoporated. Especially as tergra 4 and qaulcom800 boypth have it intergrated.

I would rather have a cheaper device than mobile broadband. They'll probably do both.

Well that's 24 hours with my Nexus 7, the wireless charging's superb, screen is great, and there's loads of free games .......... but Android is a absolute mess. How the hell it got to #1 spot is beyond me. Probably going to ebay it if the Surface mini is cheap enough.

Depends what you need it for? Personally i'd prefer the full windows but if you are a basic user and use say only office and web (check emails etc) then RT would be enough.

word, mail, movies, music, internet so basic tablet usage ;)
there is a messenger app that was just released for ARM so would work on RT as well...
all other means of communication - skype facebook twitter etc work on both.

Full fat windows seems better option if you can get it n smillar price...

maybe would be good to be able to connect my camera to it to see photos on tad bigger screen

My prediction is that the next round of Surface products will still provide some decent laughs, whether it's by pricing themselves out of the market or by still being unable to get the Office team to make a touch-friendly version.

MS have already announced that they are making a proper, touch-friendly version of Office. It should launch late this year or early next: http://www.neowin.net/news/microsof...ions-of-office-apps-for-non-windows-platforms

I agree that MS will mess up the Surface 2 in one way or another. It will either be too expensive or they will do what they did last time and make it US only for the first few months.

Wtf is this? All I can think of is some sort of DJ

Would be easier to tell if they could focus a camera a bit better.

Does seem a bit backwards though if it does turn out to be custom covers for different applications - there's a touch screen that can produce any UI imaginable, use it. Having to attach a different piece of hardware to control different apps makes it a big Game Boy, except with less games.

Usless looking accesories at that, i cant fathom what thepat cover is and even of it has a ipuse, it must be niche, however a dock would be great. And battery cover usefull, depending in size and life.
