*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Thought I'd place an order on PC World to take advantage of the 5% off, and then if a better student deal goes online tomorrow or Tuesday I could cancel before the order is dispatched on Wednesday. Just tried to pay with my Bank of Scotland card and their verification step rejected me, didn't process the payment and says they will be in contact later to see if the payment I tried to make was genuine. Problem is they won't contact me until tomorrow when the offer will have expired!

What 5% off?

We don't seem to be having much luck with credit/debit cards today

As usual they are all over the place and in Engadgets case, the usual retarded user having reviewed it.

I didnt look....am I close?

The Engadget review wasn't too bad actually, the Verge had some gems like "the iPad is better for video and music" with no explanation as to why but at least they're not trying to fake things like knocking it over in their lap this time.

Skim read it now, they still dont see the point of having a desktop in RT, personally I find this one of its biggest strengths for transferring files and having Explorer.
And they KEEP reverting to the fact taht their is a desktop that cannot run legacy software, why isnt iOS or Droid given the same treatment brought against it for not running any legacy stuff?

Not as bad a Gizmodo, they wet themselves with excitement over anything Apple related. Anything non Apple gets a generic *Meh ... It's not an iPad* review.

They probably don't get the same negative press as they don't run a windows desktop.

There's nothing visually different with RT and X86, it's even more confusing now with Surface 2 as even the name doesn't show a difference.

I ignore reviews to a certain point prefer to try things myself, I like this and came from a iPad 3 , what I like is more can be done with it. I am not overly bothered with apps as I don't use many really.

Mines connected to pc wirelessly can stream things on it great for when am running or on ex bike, used to use Netflix before which is fine but I got so much more choice to watch now.

Thumbs up for me the internet browsing destroys the iPad its so fast and just like a desktop one, W8 rt is great on a tablet , did try it on pc nut didn't like it but works nice on these, very happy with this.

One thing that does bug me about these reviews is it's pretty obvious non or very few of these reviewers have used a Surface recently and considering the improvements made to the Surface and Windows since launch it seems a sloppy omission.

Surely existing Surface RT users are a somewhat important target audience for the Surface 2 but even Anandtech falls foul of this, none of the graphs compare to the Surface RT.

I wonder if Argos will ever remember to put the Surface 2 back on sale.

I can't get signal at work, can anyone find if the text reserve service works for a Surface 2, it's

143/5306 TS6 6UX

I WANT MY SURFACE NOW DAMMIT.

Sorry, Microsoft Surface 2 32GB Tablet. (£359.00) is out of stock at Middlesbrough Cleveland Retail Park. For text when back in stock, reply YES.
Nearest store with only 1 in stock is Billingham(5.0 miles).Reply with RESERVE. You pay price in-store on collection

Hmmm can't decide if I should buy a Surface 2 or not, have the first RT and it runs great with 8.1 but the 1080p screen and huge performance boost is tempting..... ah what to do!

How on earth can they say ipad is good for video, theyre ****, due to aspect ratio. The apple ecosystem is slightly better, but xbox movies isnt bad.
