*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

I saw someone watching a video with an iPad when I was on a train.
Lmfao, it was like half the tablet had black bars.

Yep, dont get me wrong ipads ok, but websites and video are better on surface aspectratio. The only thing better on ipad aspect ratio is reading, but then reading on tablets isnt nice anyway. Get a kindle instead with ink display.
Let alone the lack of multitasking on ipad, watching a video and want to quickly check, webpage, twitter, facebook, forget it, surface, snap and carry on.
So many times been watching youtube and either want to look at a related web page or save something to OneNote and it means stopping the video.

The Verge have got form. Last year they said the Surface RT "felt thicker" than the iPad at the time, even though it was measurably thinner. Their reviews are, let's say, highly subjective.

The actual meat and potatoes of their review reads okay, aside from a couple of clangers. It really falls apart at the summary scoring however. Anandtech and Ars are your best bet for reviews, followed by Paul Thurrott depending on what mood he's in.

Saying that the iPad is better for videos..because " it just is" completely wrties off any credibility of that review.

Just how is the old screen ratio of the iPad meant to compare the 16:9 ratio for watching movies?

Decided unless the Nokia one comes up with something amazing, ill just go with the Surface 2

Can anyone tell me from using a RT, how much faster/ better the Browser is, I just felt the RT one was let down from some horsepower to render the pages in a quick time.

+1 Would like to know this also.

Still on the fence whether I should upgrade or not.

Anyone know what happens if I miss the delivery (UPS)? As I now have to go into work tomorrow :( and can't find a way to reschedule it on their website.

Thurrot is a frothing-at-the-mouth Microsoft fanboy and his reviews and opinions are terrible. I honestly wouldn't pay any attention to anything he says.

Not at all. To claim The Verge is biased and then to present Paul Thurrott as balanced is hilarious. He honestly thinks that Windows RT having a desktop just to run Office in is a good thing, when the view of a sane person would be to use it as an example of the inability of MS management to get the Office team to write a proper Metro version of their suite.

Sure.
