*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Power keyboard isn't illuminated though apparently, also its twice as thick and weighs twice as much as originally stated on the website, it does add 70% battery life tho...

$200! How much will that be in £? I'm hoping about £130 max but we'll see

Unlikely given the Touch Cover 2 is £109.99 RRP.

Best case scenario is $200 to GBP converted + 20% VAT = £144, rounded up to £149.99 would be my guess.

$200, that'll probably convert to £199 then :/

Realistically I'd say £149 as well given that the predicted price for the dock is £169...

The original Surface Pro is currently at an absolutely ridiculous 440 with a free touch cover from MS.

Absolutely ridiculously aggressive pricing (Where the hell's this attitude when it's needed?)

I'd have a very hard time getting a Surface 2 over one (Battery aside)
If I didn't have an Ultrabook that was the exact same spec I'd be on it :p

I'm interested, but what's the Surface Pro battery like these days? I recall they MS released an update which improved it but I'm unclear on whether that only applied to the Surface 2.

I couldn't tell you what it's like, I wouldn't expect it to last anymore than 4 hours of constant usage like.

My Surface 2 surprised me when I had a trip to Birmingham with battery, could have managed the to and from journey on the single charge.

I've still got a Pro at workm, I could maybe get it back in and test the battery life on it if someone has an app that'll do it...

Thanks, but I've done a bit of reading up this afternoon and have a fairly good idea of what I could expect :) I like the form factor but the battery life and lack of space concerns me, as I might want to dual boot with Ubuntu for work. I'd rather SSH into a dev server but I'm not sure if there are good Metro-friendly terminal tools out there.

I had a surface pro but sent it back due to heat and battery life. I could get just about 4 hours out of it watching a video on about 30% brightness and a very aggressive power saving config.

I've connected our works E-mail account via the "mail" app, but I simply can't do it in the outlook app.

Outlook 2013 requires the server you are connecting to support ActiveSync 14 I believe. The Mail App seems to have less strict requirements.

I have been trying to connect Outlook 2013 to Lotus Domino with no luck but the Mail App works fine.
