***The Official MSI 5850 Twin FrozeR Thread***

Need to get it to work properly at stock first. Going to try some older drivers in a minute and if it still does'nt work it's going back. Should'nt have to mess around to get the damn thing to work properly. My Asus is a far superior card.

Hey all finally got my cfx cards installed today but one of them is making a noise with the fan when i push the fans slightly it stops.

Its not very loud just wondering what i could be?

Both the cards are working fine aswell nice and cool so not really bothered by it.

Edit: Nvm checked it and reseated it seems fine now :). Now just to sort my problems of why steam wont install :(

Edit 2: Can anyone explain to me a custom fan profile?

You grab MSI Afterburner and in the settings there is fan monitoring and you can set a curve which you enable and you can pick what speed the fans spin at at certain temperatures.

Just wondering what people have?

When I boot up my PC the screen is now green instead of black initially. Stays that way until the windows log on screen. Other than that it works perfectly.

Anything to be worried about? Using HDMI

Anyone got a solution for the voltage randomly resetting to 1164mV ingame? I have it aty 1200mV and obviously the thing resetting is extremely dangerous as it insta-crashes from my clocks of 850/1200

I'm getting ****ed off here.

Also: even if you set the clocks down it will remain, evidenced by the fact that it was artifacting from being too high (930/[email protected]) and when I set it down to my working value (925) it continued to artifact. hm, I thought, let's set it to 725/1000/1.164V and, yes, artifacting. I restarted the computer and ran it at 925/1250/1.25V and all was well again.

I cannot get the overclocking to unlock in MSI afterburner. I have changed the 0 to a 1 in the cfg file but i'm still limited to 775 after re-setting afterburner. I'm using version 2.1.0 the latest from the msi site.. ?

Just clocked the card to 850/1200 and it makes a nice difference no artifacting after an hour of Furmark. What sort of max is safe for these cards ? I have not touched the voltage just the core and mem..

nice i cant get 850 on mine with out upping the volts, or i get display driver errors in games,

i think most have said 1.25v is max 27/7.

tbh i run mine at default, as it seems fine in the games i play

Nice, sounds like you have a good 1, i havnt been able to run anything over 930, without lock ups, and that tryin volts all the way to 1.3v

I've looked through this thread couple of times and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

With unofficial overclocking enabled in Afterburner, there's still the limit of 775 core/1125 memory.

I tried flashing with edited bios (using the bios I backed up) with increased overdrive limit, that bricks the card so I have to reflash it back to the original bios.

Is it just my card or am I missing something? :o

Post the following into the afterburner config like in my pic. Then save.

I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it

Got mine today, and get the high pitched whine in games... =\
Box had clearly been opened already
rma?

Was it in a sealed bag with a sticker cover on it. ? The whine does get annoying I have an RMA for mine but I'm in two minds if I will keep it or not as its quite a good card, just the whine...
