The Official Nexus S Thread

Im very dissapoibted with the CPU. Im not hating the looks but it does kinda still look like a galaxy Device. The curved screen could be awesome.

Hate the back of the phone rubbish plastic but 2bh no one will see it. I have a Desire HD and the back of that phone is pig ugly as well.

Smart tags are surely a while off being adopted for everyday use arent they?

I dont think this is the revolutionary device i hoped for.

I'm more interested in those battery times than anything, oh and the MT keyboard!

The 1500mAh battery helps the former, I guess!

I can see it costing £484.99, thats the price of the 16gb galaxy s and it's basically he same phone

Going to hold off personally as I was hoping on dual cores, if it's sub 350 then I might think otherwise as it would be a fair price comparatively ....

No way.... my Nexus One cost £380 from Google back in March. How can they justify iPhone pricing for a phone that doesn't carry the fashion item tag?

Who sticks with Stock UI anyway? a brief glance at the homescreens thread shows that nobody does :p

The stock ui = crap argument is no longer valid because even unrooted phones can go balls deep in a new look!

Oh and drool @ gallery/new keyboard!

Can't wait til Gingerbread ports arrive for the Desire if I choose not to get it :D

The custom ones look even worse because they're developed by amateurs as a hobby.

I'm talking the use of subtle colours that blend in well like the HTC applications, MIUI ROM and iOS.

Stock Android, or the "lets repack a few resource files with some new icons" user interface does not hold a candle to iOS.

Custom ones are made by amateurs? What a bizarre thing to say.

Oxygen 1.0, for example, looks fresh and professional on all accounts.

It's not bizarre at all, show me these themes that are made by professional UI developers?

There isn't any - they're just people who can repack some icons and change the layout of an XML file.

That's just changing pictures and colours, user interface and ergonomics go much deeper than that.

The ergonomics of FroYo are quite fine as they are. Gingerbread builds on that and tweaks them further.

Looks nice and I could be tempted to shell out for one this side of next pay day but....... as it's made by Samsung and their build quality (case wise I mean) can be a bit dubious from different things I've read I'm in two minds, now if it was in one of those nice htc aluminium shells it would seal it for me :):)

BS. Its $529 in the US. Google arent stupid.

I suspect BBC have found one retailer at that price. A retailer who will try and milk the price.
nope that price is right and it's from cpw - well thats one way to stunt sales

This is the problem with them having an exclusive......
