At best what im thinking is its a cheaper prices than the iPhone at 32gb going by the euro in price terms, wait and see what they offer the UK.
But I think I could wait and see what tariffs and even till next year, seeing as its now November time they hit market..

People are expecting a cheap bargain just because it doesn't run Android?

32GB for around £500, which is exactly the same price as the S3 and other high end phones, except iPhones which are more... Thats the RRP as well for SIM free phones, it'll be cheaper very shortly and not many people actually buy them sim free anyway... The big factor will be cost on contract for the vast majority of people and that will probably be similar to the current S3 contract prices which is to be expected.

It was always going to be £500 ish.

That's cheap for 32gb and brand new phone. RRP on sgs3 32gb is £570. So that's a darn good price and spec and will fall in price after release.

Android is here to stay whereas WP8 is still an unknown quantity. To expect people who have invested in either iOS and Android to jump ship there has to be some sort of incentive. Having a phone priced around the same as the competition (excluding iPhone) isn't going to entice people to jump ship. You can pick up a 16gb S3 from amazon for £430 + a small amount for a 16gb sd card and you can get them for even less on ebay (£380).

But you're comparing rrp to what it actually sells for... Again missing the point that the price doesn't really matter to most people who will be buying on contract.

Well yes it will because that means the contract prices are going to be similar if not more than 16gb s3 contracts as a reflection of the rrp.

The price you quoted aren't RRP though.

It's £500 and £570

So the 16gb sgs3 is the same RRP as the 32gb lumia 920

S3 contracts have fallen in price as a result of the falling price of the s3. When I took out my o2 on and on contract I had to pay £100 for the handset. The same contract now only charges 19.99 for the phone.

The 920 is unlikely to see those prices for at least a few months.

Of course, one is coming to the end of the top end phone, the other is the brand new top end phone with far better specs. And yet still comes in at the same price as the s3 originally did.
