No my friend. It is an unlocked red from clove.
I have an EE sim contract with 4G and that had a deal on for me. They kept delaying it in my area but at the time was available in London but couldn't get it on my phone because of this issue I raised a while back.

So....can I get the update somehow?

Do EE do DC-HSDPA? If they do I wouldn't be too bothered waiting for the update to come to enable LTE on your 920.

Unless you were really desperate for that roaming deal though I'd have just stuck with a rolling 3G SIM only deal until a)4G was rolled out in your area and b)your phone becomes 4G enabled

ok I guess. Fast... acceptable.

Andy - can I get the ROM in question that enables 4G for me?

Hmmm. Let me have a look see what I can find, as I know Nokia have locked out access now. The German and EE roms will enable 4G.

What is your product code, as I do have a EE Rom downloaded ;)

Product code?

Yup. Its the phones ID to see what update is gets. However, thinking about about it, as its simfree that isn't going help.

I have the following EE rom, if you like to try "RM821_1232.2110.1244.3011_RETAIL_eu_euro1_342_11_100287_prd_signed"

I can't give you the date. An EE ROM would solve the problem, but not that one. That is about 3, maybe 4 SW updates old. It would take hours afterwards updating it.

Your problem is not with the phone. Your problem is not with your SIM. Your problem is not with Nokia. Your problem is that Clove have sold you a device telling you it is 4G, and it isn't.

From my perspective you have two options;

1. Go back to Clove and complain that they have mis sold you a device (which I told you to do months ago).
2. Wait for the update.

Thanks Eliot. I DID take action then, they said to take it up with Nokia. I did... they said they would come back and never did.
I do think also Nokia is to blame too because as I said before, customers shouldnt need to know if its 4G ready or 4G enabled. They know its 4G and thus should just "work" (provided you have coverage and the plan). Its also been advertised as 4G... the big craze and all, people expect for it to work and not have to fiddle around and hunt around...

I don't know why, it isn't Nokia's problem.

Do you have a reference number or anything from when you contacted Nokia?

I don't :( I spoke to the CS (Customer Service) and they took my details and said they would get back.
After that, I was never able to connect with CS and told me in an automated system to post on the forums instead.....

go here, go there.... just not on especially if you splashed out on a device from Nokia. (it is a Nokia device). BTW - im not being argumentative here. I know it may come out like that on forums (text) :)

Just to be clear though, ALL 920s are 4G capable right?
