Best organised live stream ever, love the proper product shots to the right.
Have a feeling its not overwhelming, but I bet this turns out to be the best camera they have done so far.

Pretty underwhelming. It's so little difference to the 920. Poor show.
should have announced several. And I still think they should do a proper lumia supported tablet. Unlike the fiasco of all the other rt tablets. That haven't been pushed or supported by the creators. Just have to look at all of nokias own and exclusive apps to see how well it could do.

Mid product cycle refresh, it's just a 920 in a different body. You chaps will get all the same features with the Amber update.

The 920 replacement (EOS?) should come in September/October.

Edit:
"I can't wait to see you later this summer where we'll continue to bring innovation and new experiences to our Lumia portfolio.

Not sure what else was expected, Catwalk/925 was always going to be a mid year update to the 920 with a slimmer, lighter aluminium body. EOS etc presumably comes a little later in the summer.

To be fair the 925 isn't really targeted at geeks wanting more tech, it could do really well as a mainstream high end device though if it's as attractive as it looks and that little bit lighter. I don't think anyone would replace their 920 with the 925 but Nokia challenge is to sell more units to people not already using their devices so hopefully 925 will prove a little more attractive to the average phone buyer.

They may not have the man power.

Just what was everyone expecting, ite pretty amazing in what they have done in teh time, they have taken the 920 with OIS and managed to slim it down loose weight etc, so people have the choice now.

THe only mistake they made was having a show for it as far as I can see, as when that happen poeple expect cancer to be cured.

The 6 month flagship "refresh" never worked for Sony or HTC. It's counter productive, no-one wins.

Props on software updates though, that's a huge draw for me. (Show off a few nice features, give a time frame and the models that'll get it.. perfect! I wish more would do this)

Something must be wrong, apart from a couple of soft resets and a couple of apps being poor on battery mines been flawless.

I have had so many problems with my 920 I want out of my contract. Huge battery drain, multiple resets etc

Why not just use the warranty.

My mates the same, his iphone4 is useless, keeps crashing, hanging and everything else, but for some reason refuses to use the warranty, which is a legal requirement. It boggles the mind.
And it's obviously the phone as plenty of us have iphone4 that actually work.

Found myself agreeing with the Verge hands on article, which is scary, Nokia is being held back now by WP and how slow MS is to bringing much needed updates to address all the things users are wanting.

THey are now going to have to pull out something pretty amazing to keep things going..otherwise...well...

People were expecting too much from todays event, they delivered exactly what I was expecting, a slightly improved Lumia 920.

The next full on update will be later in the year where they will no doubt continue to lead in innovation.

Nothing to tempt me away from my 920 then
If I was buying now, Id still go for a 920 over a 925 as Im so addicted to native wireless charging...
I do wish they had brought the EOS version out today as I might have been tempted then

I think the next GDR update is fairly imminent, it's only 6 months or so since release so not too bad and there's been a bunch of small updates in that time.

Out of interest, what is missing/holding WP8 back from your perspective? With the exception of a couple of apps missing I quite like it, granted it's not as "pretty" as some of the Android builds, I find it much easier and clearer to use practically day to day though once I got over my urge to "fiddle" with it as a hobby. :)

From my perspective,
Display resolution, which is meant to be expanded in next update.
Notification centre, which you better be able to disable, I hate it, but most people want/need one.
Quad core , I'm unsure if this is wp8 or just not needed, but specs matter more than actual perfomance.
Xbox movies don't work on wp8  this is the one thing I want fixing the most.
So sort of file manager, even if its a basic one.
Fm radio, again meant to be in next update

And you can see the other top annoyances/suggestions here

Purly on an OS front, some big things like.
Notification centre, its hard to get away form how helpful this is, and pinning EVERY tile that might get an update or message is not the answer, a nice implementation is swiping the other direction to reveal an centre with hot buttons to turn wifi on off etc and the like.
Alots could be done with the Mail client to make it work better with multiple accounts.
Different volume presets/ profiles for things and how about a constant vibration option, not just a single vibrate then....nothing. Custom notification sounds as well, its little, but I miss it.
Text/ message reminders if you didnt get them the first time, how can somethign this small and useful not be a standard feature?....I dont always hear the first ring of an SMS and found the 5min tone reminder catching me out to pick up the phone.
Ways or options to group your Apps list..favs at the top, random not so much used stuff in other groupings.

Two things that need to be binned and started again, Xbox Games centre is pretty awful, it needs to be redone from scratch.
And dont even start me on the Music player, its pretty awful overall.

I still like using WP, but theirs just so much more they could have moved on.

From everything I've seen I agree, Notifications are supposed to be coming, quad core is already supported (in fact WP8 supports upto 64 core), Xbox movies not working on phone I agree is ridiculous and annoying - perhaps we'll see more about that at the xbox announcement?, FM radio is supposedly being re enable so it's not too far off. Resolution i'm fine with on a 4.5" device to be honest and find the screen one of the best I've used anyway although the 925s switch back to AMOLED is an improvement if it gives the same or better quality images than the one on the 800.
Reassuringly it seems there is a commitment to make all update available to exisiting WP8 devices which is a good thing.

Oh, different volume for Apps/ringer/voice is no1 on my list along with handling podcast properly although carboncast does a good job of that these days.
