****The Official Note III Thread****

Note 3's Slow motion mode. 120fps upped to 60fps:

Nay bad!

****WARNING****

For those with 3rd party S View cases like the Spigen Armour View. Do NOT install Kitkat.

Samsung has disabled SView from working with any 3rd Party cases. And once you go to Kitkat you can't downgrade back to JellyBean.

I'm stuck now until the guys at XDA resolve this or Samsung reverses this. I'm pretty upset about this actually as i spent £35 on a lovely case and one of the big features doesn't work anymore

You mean you don't use an official Samsung one? For shame!

Looks like the whole inkjet cartridge faff but this time with phone accessories :/

Edit*
Thread title is wrong, it's "3", not "III"!

Did anyone find a car mount that works with the s view case, can't even fold the case as it flicks into sview if you do this

I've just read the whole thread. Sounds like the guys who copied the chips in the cases did a **** poor job and only did the bare minimum and didn't pay any attention to what else the chip contained.

It's bitten them on the backside now.

^ Thanks.

Edit. I've read the thread and I'm pretty sure it'll affect all non Samsung cases that didn't use a Samsung chip, a guy on xda is going to try to hack it so it's wait for a hack or a new chip/case off Spigen or don't upgrade to KK, I don't know whether to blame Samsung for the change or Spigen for using a different chip in a £35 case.

Bit of both, Spigen for being cheap and Samsung for doing something entirely spiteful.

As a short term aid, rebooting the phone after it is removed from the charger seems to help. For me at least it seems to be an issue with the kernel staying awake after the charging lead is removed. Reading XDA it seems this issue is a Samsung kernel problem so we will have to sit tight and wait for the kitkat update.

Thanks for that tip, really helped me out !

What did the service centre say? Have you tried flashing a different modem? Does the phone still heat up in aeroplane mode?

Service centre said try a factory reset failing that bring the phone.

Should I try the phone in aeroplane mode?

how shall I flesh another modem

Try aeroplane mode and see what happens (I assume you've done a full wipe of the phone already).

If that fails try flashing a newer modem, you can find the collection + instructions over at the Note 3 thread in XDA. It's pretty easy to do via Odin.
