Had my note for a day now, paid 99 quid to swap with EE, 52.99 a month contract but my 7% pay rise covers that.

Battery is really impressive, screen seems better than GS4, but need to flash it as I was everything smaller, same size as S4 stuff but taking advantage of bigger screen!

Cant get better pictures than that Kona, thats pretty much it apart from a faint mark around the home button, very similar to the one above - its odd, if you wipe it with a cloth, it goes, but if you even touch that area with a finger it shows up like a sore thumb, again odd as its never been there till yesterday.

@kona786 dude do you know where I can get the diztronic case from for the Note 3? I've had a look in a few places but can't seem to find anything. If you know could you hit me up in trust please?

Did you ever have a screen protector on or have some gluely product touch the surface?

Nope never seen a screen protector, and havent been any glue products with the note 3 at all, its just odd and im trying to work out if its worth getting it fixed or replaced.

Tbh I had a similar problem above the top speaker but I used some of those alcohol screen wipes and it disappeared. I have a feeling something has touched the surface of the screen there and is stuck on the glass (even if it's not visible). It would make sense since whenever you touch over it that it leaves a mark.

That smudge/defect is a defect, it's over where the notification LED is yes but it's not supposed to be visible. You cannot see the LED area at all on my handset, only the LED once it is on. If you can see a square or otherwise then it's a defect and should be sent back.

To install a custom ROM, do I need to flash a stock ROM of the latest firmware version using Odin that matches the firmware version of the ROM? Or can I just flash a customer ROM using Odin?

Thanks.

are many other people noticing around 15% reduction in battery life since kit-kat update? seriously considering going back to jb right now :/
