****The Official Note III Thread****

are many other people noticing around 15% reduction in battery life since kit-kat update? seriously considering going back to jb right now :/

If anything mine has got better! I did optimise stuff using BetterBatteryStats before ugrading, and I've only seen my idle % per hour drop slightly on Kitkat which is an improvement..

Dont think you can go back to JB once you have got KK, something to do with the bootloaders or something -

On the subject of battery life, yes i did notice a decrease on my OTA Sim free KK, but a factory reset actually sorted it and i was experiencing even better life, for example over night on JB id lose around 8% in 7 hours, i know it doesnt sound a lot, but KK factory reset that decreased to 3% - and general use improved too, from 100% id usually end the day with around 48% with the KK it was around 54% doing exactly the same things as before.

And on the subject of my little quibble with the screen, rang Samsung UK, while exchanging emails while on the phone sending them pics of it, they concluded its not normal and its booked in for a senior tech to look at it and possible repair or exchange, turn around 2-3 weeks though :( gonna be tough without my note :(

Bit of a random question, but I was looking at the Spigen view cover on amazon but apparently the s-view feature isn't that great and only works occasionally. Does anyone have a case that fits over the official S-View cover at the back to give more protection. Sounds a bit odd granted but want the functionality of S-View and protection of a decent case

My spigen sa view always works but won't if I update to kk which I've avoided, I'm hoping for a fix but my hopres are low.

I prefer the smoothness of 60fps over 4K res.
I really hope that the high-end 64-bit Qualcomm processor - whether that uses off-the-shelf A57 cores or next-generation Krait cores (perhaps they might introduce two new SKUs respectively: Snapdragon 810 followed by Snapdragon 900?) will feature 60fps 4K recording (2160p60) using H.265 / HEVC encoding with 4:2:0 and 10-bit colour (i.e. the Main 10 profile, as it's too early for Main 4:2:2 10), rather than H.264 / AVC. The Galaxy Note 4, 2014 Nexus phone and Lumia 1020 successor could really make a statement then. If the Apple A8 in the iPhone 6 does not support this then it would be disappointing.

Updated to kitkat. no going back now. the battery life seem good.

I want the green icon back for the battery!

Ha ha, their reason for not being able to downgrade is the biggest load of **** that I have ever read :p.

Why? They probably have implemented better security features with the update, it's just very rarely will you find anyone using KNOX lol.

So replaced my Note the other week, due to having the S fall off the back. Now I've dropped and smashed the screen!

Great only had it 3 weeks :( :p

fantastic phone - was so put off by size at first - but now my old Iphone 4 feels like a postage stamp, and for the 2% of the time it feels a bit big in the pocket - I'm finding 98% of the time the screen size is a huge plus

can't imagine having smaller now

My SG3 contract is up in May and I'm seriously considering getting either a Note 3 or wait for the Note 4 because I hardly make voice calls and I think I'll benefit from the screen size.

I do worry about it being too big though as in people pointing and laughing, yeah I know it sounds daft!

It's not the size that matters but what you do with it :p

Really though, try one out and see, it's really smaller than you would imagine.

Just make them aware a majority of Korean females use Note size phones and watch them slowly quieten down. Atleast that works for me when my mates try and refer to it as a brick :P

Any idea where I'm going wrong with syncing my emails when I go to look on my mail for both my MSN and Gmail accounts it keeps saying sync is disabled and can't find where to enable it

Cheers
