Ive had the total opposite. Still got my Note 2 and the difference is larger than i thought it would be. The 3 is what i expected the 2 should have been. Presumably you have the 9005?
 
Indeed it is the 9005 but its packed up for return tomorrow, tbh that's my 3rd Samsung now and they just feel cheap, no offense intended to anyone but there just not me, maybe its the software too, as that just looks crap in comparison to stock android and htc's sense, at the end of the day its down to personal preference I know but unless they change the UI complete of touchwiz I doubt i'll be getting another Sammy phone soon, and in no way I am trying to flame here, as I really like the look and feel of the note 3 but just cant live with its functionality

I guess if you have both the note2 and 3 side by side then yes you will see a difference, but having had a htc one for about 8 or 9 months since the note II then getting the Note III last week I couldn't really see where the improvements have been made as much, sure I know the technical side of things but in use it wasn't that much better for me

Can see your point and if your not happy then no point in keeping it. The HTC One is probably a step between the 2 so you probably would notice too much. On Cyanogen the Note 3 is a beast of a phone but you are missing some great Sammy mods.
TW is awful. Im not keen either but i can choose CM11 if i like.
I love the hardware and would love CM11 with sammy mods but not being a programmer i can only dream. :)

Which phone you getting next then?

That's the problem, I like the look of the htc M8 but then how much of a change is it going to be to the M7, similar story to the note 2 to 3 I guess, something inside me, maybe stupidly fancies trying wm8......
 
Hi,

My mobile contract is up for renewal soon, I lost the phone that came with it (3 weeks into a 2 year contract!!) and so I am thinking of getting a Note 3.

I'm currently using a note 2 which is on permanent loan for "testing" from work, and I love it.

After speaking with a friend who also frequents these forums and has a note 3, it seems like the best thing I can do is buy the phone outright and get a contract that suits me from whatever provider (I'm thinking of Three due to all you can eat data).

Has anyone bought the Note3 recently? I've had a shop around and have seen one on sale for £336 new, but its from a site that people give bad reviews for customer service. Other than that, the stock price from a lot of places seems to be £399.

400 notes is about right from a respectable retailer.

TIL: Note 3 bounces more than the Note II :p

I treat my phones so well to avoid this. My Moto G 'flew' out of my pocket whilst getting into my car and now has a similar chip.

Very annoying but, now I feel a bit easier about it getting damaged.
 
It's one of those things, it's going to happen at some point :p Doesn't affect the resale value either when I come to sending it away to recycling though so no point getting it replaced for such a small ding :p

Fair enough. Similar to the Moto G really. I reckon resale values won't be affected because they are so cheap to begin with.

Kind of waiting for the same thing to happen to mine. I've dropped it LOADS but so far has been on forgiving surfaces such as wood/carpet so theres zero sign of any wear - guess that must have been on cement or tarmac?
Still dont want to get a case as the thing is big enough as it is and its only what... 4-5 months til the note 4 comes out anyway :p

Hi, thanks for the response. I found a deal on eBay in the end; for a brand new device from a trusted seller for £385. Quite happy with that price looking around!

Had mrk do a sanity check on it and looks like it will be delivered sometime this week!

Pavement! I agree about cases, the back feels good in the hand and I've not handled a case that feels the same yet, plus you'd only ruin the slim feel of the handset by putting a case on. Some risky drops are just meant to be I guess :D
 
So i've had my Note 3 a few days, coming from an S4 and I have one fairly concerning problem.

Bluetooth audio streaming...I'm getting choppy/stuttering playback when streaming bluetooth music to my car or my headphones.

Essentially, the sound chops for a split second or stutters every now and again (no real pattern...can be once every 10 seconds at times, and 5 times a song at others)... i've heard this is a software issue where the CPU on the Note is being throttled or a bluetooth stack issue.

Is anyone else having this issue and are there any solutions?:confused:
 
I experienced that exact same thing when i first got my note 3 but have not noticed it for quite a while (definitely not had it since the kit kat update - I use power amp and audiable in the car).

Only thing about the Note3 im not liking and its not down to the phones fault is samsung, they are still saying they didnt do the damage to the device when it went into repair, and that the marks on the screen are user damage, which i have no idea how considering its well under neath the glass with no physical damage to the handset - grrr no idea what im going to do now.
Also noticed white residue in the glass to bezel gaps, which i assume is some sort of cleaner/polish they tried to clean the marks on the screen away with, but they say they did not do, spent 3 hours on the phone to samsung yesterday being passed around all sorts of departments with no outcome yet, almost 4 weeks on since the phone came back.
