****The Official Note III Thread****

Sorry mrk - but I told you so :p

dropping a phone is inevitable!

My case of choice - http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3/777663-diztronic-note-3-case.html

No case is the best case for a Note 3 :)

awaits the dent pics from mrk.

Note 3 has no dent!

Unlike the Note II, the 3 back cover is so grippy it's not even slipping off my lap :)

Man of little faith ;)

wow usb tethering works well - I moved house recently and waiting for FTTC to be installed next week

usb tethering I'm getting with Three and my Note 3 - 12 down, 2 up and 28ms ping :)

It says he cares more for aesthetics than protection. And that' he wouldn't drop it 'cos it had a grippy back. I said it'll happen one day. It always does.

No case is better for aesthetics.

A case is better for protection.

You can't have it both ways.

Oh it didn't drop because it slipped like the Note II used to but dropped because I was fumbling with the USB port while multitasking. If it was in a case it would have dropped anyway although the corner may have not been chipped with the case on :p

Still, as above, the aesthetic is important!

I think it's pretty good going so far. One major drop since getting it. The S3 and Note II had a drop more often.

I've managed to brush away most of the chip now as well and all that's left is a slight crater of sorts. You can't notice it until it's up close.

I do admire you for going caseless - I would do to but I hate babysitting my phone.

They joys of using my S3 LTE is that that it's and old phone, not a looker at all, so I man handle it without a care in the world.

Though when I get my next phone I'll be soo careful with it initially.

Note 3 is my first handset that I've not even tried a case on - All the others had one, usually a snap case like the Rock series. It's mostly all to do with the rubbery matte battery cover though. If it was plastic like previous models I'd probably have a case on it.

I have resisted cases in the recent times - my previous handset (HTC One) was always case-less - but went for the Samsung S-Cover for my Note 3. I think, all in all, I am happy with the compromise, as the case is functional as well as protective.

I'm another of the oh **** I have no case on it and dropped it club. mine fell out of my pocket getting out of the work van and left a crater in the corner the spen lives

Just connected my Note3 to the laptop at work, to top up the charge, and Kies3 tells me there is a firmware update.....anyone else seen this?
I did check on the phone, but it gave some message about too many roll-outs, and to use Kies!

Any idea what the update was the other day? only 30ish MB's, so nothing too major, but I swear battery life just improved slightly!

As for cases, I'm still very happy with the S-View cover, it adds no bulk to the back of the case, and only the thinnest of covers at the front, the overhangs on the back might stop most drops from hitting the chrome, and you can take calls without having to open the front, so you don't look like a charlie..

I'm torn with the S-View cover which I got. I don't like the extra bulk (even if its slight) but the thing I miss the most is losing out on the notification LED. At the moment I'm caseless as a result.

Can anyone recommend an ebay seller for a sim unlock code so her indoors can go on the 3 network from EE.

TIA

Edit: Sorted one..

Can anyone recommend a decent car holder for a Note 3 in an Otterbox commuter?
I currently have a brodit mount for my old Nexus 4 so have a proclip fitted which I can reuse.
I can't use a brodit cradle because of the case, but have had such bad experiences with universal cradles I'm hoping for some recommendations.

Cheers

anyone else found their battery is taking ages to charge now? used to be very fast but now mine takes forever... sign of a dying battery maybe?
