****The Official Note III Thread****

They are quite a bit different.

Note 1:
Code:
Dimensions
146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm
Weight
178 g

Note 3:
Code:
Dimensions
151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm
Weight
168 g

In smartphone terms those are big differences especially the weight and thickness. In the real world in the hand it's night and day.

Sad, I remember when The Verge used to be cool.

AH it's amazing what a little iApple can do lol

That's because the Note 3 is much better sized than the Note was. It's lighter, thinner, has more grip and better one handed, yes the Notes can be used one handed and I have medium size hands!

More likely than not it was the shock of how it was much bigger than most phones at the time.

My wife loved hers though, not surprising after coming from the LG 2X.

So many people eating crow here, how many people told me even the S4/S5 where too big and Apple understand 'real peoples' needs and kept their phones small enough to fit into shirt pockets etc..

Now, they only have a choice of larger or huge, and suddenly they are singing the praises of such large screens and how it'll make their rows of icons look amazing..

Still, I'm just about to slap an order in for a few 6Pluses for work (well, waiting for Vodafone to sort out when they'll be getting some!) just to have it next to my Note 3 as I find going from that to the 5S is quite a shock in terms of screen size.

starting to struggle getting a full day out of mine now, either the battery is borked or ive got some rouge app sucking it dry, checked a few emails this morning from around 7:30am and its now at 77% might try a factory reset and see how that goes

Will be interested to know how you get on with this as I'm experiencing the same thing.

I've had my Note 3 since shortly after it launched. During that time, loads of apps have been installed/removed and there has been a number of ROM updates applied. Not once have I wiped and reset, although think that might be the way to go.

Today I boxed up my Note 3 ready to be collected by the courier tomorrow. It's going to be in good hands as another fellow member here bought it off me.

Godspeed!

Looking to sell mine too... Great phone but Shamu is calling...

Likewise on the battery struggles... and no matter what I do the phone is "held awake" for hours a day... which is no doubt killing battery. Can still get a day just fine, but GPS has to be off now unless im actively using it...

mmm odd - I've never had such good battery life from a phone as my Note 3 :) yes only a day but a day without worrying about usage

my Iphone didn't last anywhere near as well

snappy performance, great battery life, the best audio out of a portable device I've heard so far (IMO)

whats not to like- going to have mine for a long while I think :)

If you only look at it from a innards point of view perhaps yes but it's a lot nicer in the hand, it's lighter, it feels iPhone premium, the screen is brighter and smarter than the Z2 and the smaller tweaks all add up to make for a better phone experience in areas that matter most.

Ultimately it all comes down to your budget but I wouldn't compare the Z3 to Z2 if specs is all that you're looking at because the differences go beyond that :)
