****The Official Note III Thread****

benchmarks are utterly useless when it comes to real world usage, just epeen numbers :p i.e. GS 4 when it first came out was the highest scoring device but in real world usage was super laggy.

Nexus 4 is still one of the fastest and smoothest devices out there, the only device that I would say is ever so slightly quicker etc. is the HTC one, although with 4.3 now it probably just edges the htc one (haven't used a nexus 4 running 4.3 yet)

In all fair honesty mate, a few of my friends have a HTC One and have had a play with my S4 when I had the latest stock running and they said it was just as smooth and slick as their HTC One. I think the original stock firmwares were as what you described, but to be honest it's very good now.

Yup hence the "was" :p :D

GS 4 is indeed much better since getting some software updates, when first released it was bloody awful, felt like I was using a desire again :o I think the HTC one is more consistent with its smoothness/snappiness throughout the UI though but there isn't a big enough difference to be worth worrying about now.

25th worldwide as mentioned in the announcement.

I like the direction they're taking the Note, the new UI enhancements are fluid and modern and everything seems to just come together going by the videos.

Out of interest, what stuff is unique to the note 3, that the 2 won't do?

The note is something I've only recently thought I'd possibly go for, I'm not a power user by any stretch of the imagination, but I do own my business and I'm coming to think a phablet could be a good idea - mainly I like the idea of just being able to scribble stuff down just like a notepad.

No mention of speaker quality ?
What's the deal with thinner ?, take the back out to flush with the camera and fill the thing with battery :D

exactly!

i was just having this convo with a work mate were we was saying why make it soo damm thin?

battery life is far more important then thinnest

It's got the biggest battery of any smartphone out and the Note series set benchmarks for battery life anyway yet you want it to be thicker to have more battery capacity?

Crazy.

You can just get one of the many extended batteries and covers anyway.

Galaxy mega has a 3200 battery ;)

I don't think I like the pleather back. Will the flip case replace the back like it does on the note 2?

Carphone warehouse have said they will get the phone in stores around the 17th, how true that is I don't K ow but the guy on the phone said that's what he could see on the system.

I'll be dropping by the same shop o got the Note 2 for £460 to see of a special offer N3 is there too. Maybe do a bit of talking to get a deal sim free :p

Well, I'm sold.

Supposedly 3 are getting them instore on the 16th. I'll pop in to my local store and see what going on then. Really like the look of the expanded S View cover. Guessing at around £40 for them though.

Half interested if there's a deal going with the Galaxy Gear watch and the Note3. Will be interesting to compare it with the Pebble. Such a shame the battery life seems to suck.

Oh, and I don't see the fuss with stereo or front facing speakers. I rarely use the speaker on my phone for anything other than the thing ringing. As long as I can hear it in my pocket with the bottom speaker, then no problem. The thing I hate most about modern phones is the lynx doused unwashed morons using them to play their tuneless blether at full volume on trains, in the street.... They're just not needed on a phone. Significantly more use on a tablet.
