****The Official Note III Thread****

Anyway, you use what you've built your routine around. For someone like me who has invested everything into running a daily routine which Android plays a major part means no other phone OS would be able to do what I do with my phone on a daily basis and because of that my only option is Android and I'm more happy for it.

Totally agree - I've been with android for around 3.5 years.. would take something special to sway me away. Disregarding the "ecosystem" (i hate that term!) investment the iPhone screen is simply too small to consider having been used to my S3 for the last 15 months.
The Note 3 seems like the best android device on the horizon but still not 100% on the size - since you came from the S3 did you find the increased bulge in your pocket at all uncomfortable? :D

That's because apple dictate the contracts and prices so everything happens fast because there's no say from networks.

Samsung have given a time when it will be available, end of the month.. What's hard to understand?

Nothing is hard to understand, I think you've misunderstood my comment.
My point was Samsung, it seems to me have tried to steal Apple's thunder by their announcement of the Note 3 a few days before Apples launch, but there are virtually no details of pricing on the phone and it won't actually be available for weeks yet - where Apple "heres the new phone you can have it Monday"

I just don't like the way Samsung have done it - as said I'm not an Apple person, not that I have anything against them that is, in fact I'm a whole lot more interested in the Note 3 than the iphone.

I've just checked, no details on the Note 3 from voda, 3, orange/t/EE, you can pre order the 5c at all of those.

I've been with android since day one as a user and a professional developer

tbh I feel a bit swizzed, Note 3 launched nearly a week ago now, and still no details from anywhere about contract prices with that phone.
Apple release their new phones just two days ago, and people are getting them Monday!! and you can to various providers and sign up knowing how much it will cost you.
I don't like the fact that samsung have steamed in there "look at our awesome phone - here it is!!!"........ "OK when can I buy it find out about pricing?"........ "yeah ermmm soon, well soonish - it's on the to do list"
(typed not as an apple fan btw)

Huh? They've been announced, not launched.

Do you complain when a film or game has been announced and isn't available to buy the next week/month/year?.

You are forgetting that the reason for that is because Apple dictate exactly when, where and how much it sells for whereas Samsung and other makers so ply announce it and let networks decide pricing and so on.

Besides, I can't remember when the last time a non Apple phone came out that was announced and released as quick as an iPhone.

No problem with size at all :) It's big and people always ask when they see it but it's thin and light and the Note 3 is thinner and lighter still so that's better yet.

Is it entirely to do with iOS then? Can you please back yourselves up, as you 2 haven't added any examples of why the 5S is preferable, and the ones I've given were a smaller screen size and an OS that "just works" out of the box.

Just to say, all Samsung phones work just as well "out of the box"

The amount of times my Note 2 has dropped onto the floor outside and yet the screen is still scratch free e end if the surround bezel has scuffs and dings... I know an iPhone would have shattered rear or front glass by now if I had one It does depend on luck as well in some cases.

The number of cracked screens compared to Samsung phones is laughable and yet iPhone owners say they're just a durable lol

+1 on that, I can't stand this "ecosystem" cult and I should be able to buy what I want and use it with everything else I like, which android does.

Samsung had their date set for sept 4th weeks before Apple had any announcement date.
I dont really see how they are trying to steal Apple's thunder.

Pricing will come closer to release.

Its probably just because it's a phone I'm actually interested in getting asap that I'm taking any real notice of anything :p
I'm on PAYG atm so keen to see my options - I can sign up when ever :)

Like I said it's the way it seems to me now, if thats what always happens then OK :)

Is it possable to upgrade to a note 3 from a note 2 with orange?
Im not really that bothered and my note 2 still flys and the only difference is its faster...bit better camera ect..nothing really too exciting but im still curious if its possable.

I've dropped my iphone 4S on a tiled floor at work numerous times and it's scratch free...so yeah, fairly durable.

Luck of the draw isn't it. Someone's Note 2 on here got a cracked screen when it fell from hip height on to grass - lol.

The thing that sways me towards android over apple, is the fact I can just plug it into my pc, and drag and drop files onto the phone, and be able to save attachements and documents on my phone too, and meadia is easier to play on an android phone without having to convert the file or use itunes. For me this is a big enough issue to make me keep away from apple - furthermore, having a removeable battery and SD card are an added bonus. :)

I admit I'm nowhere near as experienced with ios than i am with android but are you seriously saying you cannot do this with an iphone????:confused:
