****The Official Note III Thread****

Anyone else having a battery issue? It seems to drop sporadically.

I was on 60% and then next time I looked it was 30%. Seems to drain . ster than I thought it would generally as well. I keep killing apps.

The region lock on unlocked sim-free N3s has been clarified:

So the region-lock only kicks in if you first "activate" it — i.e., switch on the phone and run through setup — with a SIM from outside the list of approved countries.

It's probably a measure designed to ensnare grey (unauthorized) importers of Samsung phones. And it means you should be very careful about which SIM card you use to activate any "unlocked" Samsung phone from now on

I've only just got mine setup, but I've already installed better battery stats (free if you are an xda forum member).

So far, so good, but I'll give it a few days before setting where it is battery wise, but I have already disabled some of the use less bloatware.

Awesome phone though, only issues are Samsung software foibles, and learning the myriad of features, but the screen rocks, not to mention is flipping fast. ..

I don't think so, £300 is a better margin. That's why I will not be buying it until it's around £550. At least, considering my Note 2 was £460 back last November.

When the back light is down low, grey backgrounds have a slight cream tint that isn't uniform, I'm coming from a HTC one X that had really bad yellowing before I returned it, and the new one wasn't perfect but liveable., is it justa modern display thing, or should I expect perfection?

Anyone know if phones.co.uk are OK to order from and what their customer service is like? Seems like the best place to go for a deal on the Three network for a Note III...

picked mine up today on my lunch break but didn't get a chance to play with it til this evening. massively impressed so far. screen is phenomenal and the all round speed and responsiveness makes my S3 feel like an HTC desire.

going to get out on the moors tomorrow and test the camera out but so far loving it. happy camper :)

Anyone know how to remove the contact photos? I dont want any contact photos or anything related to them on the phone.

I have no contact photos and my SMS screen is just full of default contact photos and for a silly reason, they annoy me

well i knew there had to be a downside to this device. so far VERY underwhelmend by the camera - could be a setting somewhere i've overlooked but so far I'd rate it as not as good as the S3 by a noticeable amount :(

Yeah, camera not great. Also can you do burst mode because when I take a photo it says processing for a second.

yeah its a real shame as camera aside its an absolute beast. cant help but feel samsung have either overlooked somthing software wise that can be fixed with a firmware update or they intentionally neutered the camera for some weird reason.
for instance low light shooting mode is missing - why they hell did they do that?:mad:
