That was a disaster as I have bricked my device lol.

Failed in Odin right as the end with Invalid ext4 Image.

It displays the firmware upgrade encountered an issue and tells me to connect to Kies now. Tried that but the phone isn't found!

Asking on XDA for help now :(

Why do I mess with these things, at least it turns on I suppose!

I bought my one on Saturday.

Couldn't wait any longer... I'm glad I got it, Awesome phone.

Oh no... what were you trying to do?

Hope you get it sorted.
 
Are you sure the firmware downloaded fully? Sounds like the image could have been corrupted. Usually self hash checking updates are named .tar.md5 Although just the tar is fine if the download completes properly.

If you can still get into download mode and Odin sees the phone you can still flash a valid update so all is not lost!

It was a .tar.md5

Didn't update you on that part, sorry.
 
Got my sim back in my HTC One :( at least the Note 3 is stopping some papers on my desk from blowing about :)
 
The .zip contained these 2 files that I originally flashed:

I only flashed the larger 2Gb file but didn't do anything with the small file, is that right?
 
That format looks different to the Note 2 package. The smaller file is the kernel which you'd also flash although I'd check any instructions given first.


The kernel is usually always included in the main rom update anyway so just looks a bit strange that they included it as a separate flashable package.
 
BTU is for us, hang on the one you screenahotted above is EVR by the looks of it? Wrong version!

Flash the right one :p

Did you check the existing version on your handset beforehand?

Cool, I have downloaded this one before I found the BTU one, it only has one file in the zip:

It said it was for the international sim free phone.

Its taking an hour and a half to download them lol.
