****The Official Note III Thread****

your pings are very high, especially for wifi. or is this normal with your ISP?

I've just tried my phone and I'm in the 10-15ms region.

Miles away from router, average pings are around that though when closer.

I looked at 3 as a potential new customer and they were saying October 11th before they could deliver :(

EE seem to be having similar problems. I was sent a text on Friday saying mine would be delivered this week, but I understand they don't yet have them in stock.

I know Vodafone have stock, but only in white. I have a white S3, so that wouldn't bother me - but I'm looking at trying to get one from a store - less hassle for me.

I may regret this later but this phone doesn't deserve to be hidden behind a case, looks and feels so nice. Also feels quite a bit tougher than Note 2 although I'll let fate test that one in time.

The USB3 speeds I was expecting! I couldn't fathom that they'd put in such a controller and not increase the write speeds considerably as well!

I tell you what, using it at work all day and it's just a powerhouse. I thought my Note 2 was slick with Wanam/hawkish installed and the mods but this is something else.

The autobrightness is much much improved over Note 2. I can leave it on -5 (lowest) and it ramps up nicely outdoors but goes back to ambient levels indoors - It adjusts fast.

Mines saying pending network connection prior to delivery, which I think is simply another delaying tactic :(

Samsung Online store started selling S view cases!

ordered a black one!

Blimey, only white in stock just now!!!

The confusing thing is, I've seen a few places saying the S-View cover with wireless charging is on pre-order for the same price.. (£50)..

The one on the Samsung site doesn't mention wireless charging, so I assume it's not got it..?

Just uploaded a 4k video to Vimeo, they say:

This video's data rate is 47874 kbit/s, which is abnormally high and means we might have trouble converting it or it may take a very long time.

:D

Select "Original" quality setting.

The dual mics pick up excellent sound. leagues ahead of any other Samsung phone. The audio chip is also excellent. My music sounds a bit different, in a good way. there are subtle details that the Note 2 was hiding from my earphones which this is allowing to be heard.

Had a play with one in the shop. Nice device, screen is lush but as someone with a N2 I dont think its a worthy upgrade for the price and will wait for the N4.

I thought the note 3 was supposed to have an average sound chip?

Nope. It was announced with a premium audio chip with 24/192 output.

Edit*
Well, I suppose on the listener/earphones being used and any number of other factors too :p

Ok. So have had a note 3 for couple of days now. Have come from note 2, Beautiful bit of tech, few weaknesses in my opinion such as speaker and camera.

Anyways, just after a bit of advice. I have always rooted my devices. Im really unclear on what the implications of this whole KNOX security thing is.
Im wanting to root just so that i can uninstall any unwanted apps. Am i able to do this? Is my warranty going to be void with this KNOX security in the background.

Someone please explain. There isn't much info out there at the mo as the phone is so new
