Wow I am blown away by the difference in internet speed both wireless and mobile network.
Note 2, top to bottom - Wireless-N (5GHz then 2.4GHz) then Mobile Network (3 HSDPA):
Note 3, top to bottom - Wireless-N (5GHz then 2.4GHz) then Mobile Network (3 HSDPA):
Both phones were left on top of the bed at the same positions for the tests. Both apps were set to the same servers. Both phones connected at WiFi speeds the same (150Mbps for the 5GHz band, half at 2.4GHz).
So not only is the mobile network radio twice as powerful as the Note 2's but the Wireless radio is also much more powerful with the 5GHz receiver end able to reach the limits inc overheads of my 120Mbps broadband.
Edit*
I also did a quick transfer (write) test to internal storages for both Note 2 and 3 with a 1.05GB MKV video file sent over Windows 7. I should add that on the Note 3 MTP now supports thumbnails for both video and images which is a huge bonus.
Note 2 (USB2): Took
43 seconds which equates to about
26MB/s
Note 3 (USB3): Took
16 seconds which equates to about
70MB/s
A definite improvement with the USB3 mode enabled in the USB connection screen.
In the mobile network speed selection screen in settings I don't see 4G/LTE shown, only 3G/HSUPA - Is this another tweak you need to do like on the S4 to enable the 4G option? 3 don't have 4G yet so this isn't a issue now but I'll want it come December.
